No massive Blur fan but I think they deserve to win it, between them and Oasis in the 90's british music made it on new at ten for fucks sake.
Where I prefer The Verve, Pulp etc Blur were more influential in the mainstream which is what the Brits is.
Would be cool to see Noel award Blur with the award, what ya reckon?

Maybe Noel will keep his statue this time. Apparently this year they are designed by Sir Peter Blake.
Just thought it was interesting.

Past winners of the award have included Sting, Pet Shop Boys, and Robbie Williams. Blur are a huge improvement with that in mind and, if you're gonna give that award to one British band from the 90s that isn't Oasis or Radiohead, Blur would be it. One word, ''THE VERVE!'' Well that's two but who's counting.

They aren't together anymore. I didn't know. I mean they put out that album in 08 and then i think i saw Richard Ashcroft performing his solo work on Jimmy Fallon not that long ago... but i didn't know they had officially split. Anyways, it's not like they couldn't get together to accept the damn statue and play a couple of tunes. By all accounts, the rest of the band hate Richard Ashcroft's guts after he instigated the latest split then did that awful United Nations of Sound album.

I find it really hard to respect Ashcroft after that move. Awful is a nice way to describe the United Nation of Sound.
