According to the sales statistics Congratulations was commercial suicide. Well, fuck the sales. I really liked that title track. keep it mellow

It wasn't what people expected. I respect them a lot for doing their thing and not putting songs on the album like Kids or Time To Pretend. It seems like the media wasn't ready for songs like Flash Delirium (which is a great song!).

It's one of the great psychedelic pop albums of the past decade and is incredibly underrated. They proved they're in it for the long-haul, not just to cash in. I understand why people don't like it, but Kids, Time to Pretend, and Electric Feel were all written long before the majority of their debut album was written and were not indicative of their actual sound. If you listen to the second half of Oracular Spectacular, Congratulations isn't much of a surprise.

First album had some pretty good tracks. I haven't listened to their follow up in eons, though.
