I'm not too sure about settings and that, but apparently Noel uses an Ibanez Tubescreamer for his solos...

so i guess if you're doing a solo, that tubescreamer will get you the sound you want... you can get them for about 120 aussie bucks nowadays... which is about 50 pounds? cheap as

With a Marshall MG (they are great little amps BTW), that means bass, contour and treble at ten. Put the gain at about five and you should get pretty close.
