I've seen them in August. It wasn't a full band, but only Mavers and a unknown bass player. Mavers looked terrible and sung bad, but I was happy to see him and sing along. You can realize all those his songs still alive, timeless great tunes. His roadie joined him for encore and they played "My Generation". That was fantastic.
I''ve seen The Coral 3 times and again, they're one of the great legacies of The Beatles.

The La's by name only, really only Mavers ain't it? Still be good to see. Find it very strange how Mavers hasn't released any other music. Surely to fuck he must have some songs stored up to release instead of living off that one album!

Did he make enough money from their debut album to live a modest, comfortable life? Did he score rich on the sixpence none the richer royalties from their cover of 'there she goes'? Maybe he's giving private guitar lessons throughout Liverpool? Or maybe he still lives with his parents in the basement.

He supposedly still get's in the region of 18k-20k royalties per year just for There She Goes...mental! Obviously not a huge huge amount but that's just the one song, he'll take it in ther royalties as well I'd imagine albeit not as much as that...

Yeah...so...the show got canceled. Statement says a band member is ill (Mavers). Rumors are the gig didn't sell well at all and the band pulled out from coming across the pond. Oh well. I really wanted to catch this show. Frustrating as hell.

Think people are sick of The La's and their one album to be honest...

I'm more excited for Kasabian playing Terminal 5 next week. It has been far too long since they toured the states (2006!!!!!).
