This would be great. Noel has stated before that he's good friends with Grohl. And I like that he's on the same bill as Wilco. It should be really good exposure for him.

Considering both Noel and Kasabian are touring the US at that point in time, I'd say it's very plausible.

They announced the line up(liked the one that GD posted) WACK WACK WACK line up, IMO. for the highway robbery ticket prices they have....lame. Used to go to Coachella years ago, when it wasnt cool to go. Now its a fuckin hipster convention...."I can name more obscure hispter bands than you" type of event. Noel should have hald out for the real deal festival, SXSW, not this corporate piss pot!

it's not bad, i was expecting much lower, especially for a new act (ish) ! considering most americans' exposure to Oasis (and Noel)'s shows have been in small arenas, I imagine this could be the closest it'd get to an open air show like the English get !

Cool. I watched a bit of it online last year. I guess I'll be doing so again. Kasabian are on the bill that day. Noel'll have someone to hang out with there. I'm actually amazed that he is as high as he is on the bill. He was a lot lower on the fake poster from what I remember

As we all know Coachella can't touch any of the music festivals held in Europe , South America or even Asia for that matter. Having said that, it might give Noel some exposure. I've been to COachella a couple of times, crowd as as disinterested as a MMA fan at a Gold tournament. anyways... those Radiohead assholes must be laughing their asses off.

Seeing Kasabian in such small writing is not what i'm used to seeing, they will blow pretty much everyone on that line up out the water as a live band.
Dont have great knowledge on american festivals but those line ups seem very diverse in the different genres of music, is that the same for most festivals over there???

The festival that I'd like to see Noel at would be Lollapalooza. But I doubt he'd do it. He'll be in Chicago around April and I don't know if he'd be willing to come back in August even though his tour schedule seems to be clear.

I know Lollapalooza in Chicago tends to be very diverse. There's usually a mixture of Rock, R&B, Pop, Hip Hop, and whatever other big act is available.

If Noel has a Chicago show in April, then he wont be playing Lollapalooza as they prohibit all acts from performing within 300 miles of the city for six months before the fest and three months after.
I don't like the line-up a whole lot, but you have to be kidding yourself if you think it's bad. Sorry it's not horrid like V-Festival or even Reading/Leeds. In terms of major festivals, Coachella's only competition in Britain is Glastonbury. I'll take a weak headliner like The Black Keys over some laughable headliner like My Chemical Romance. Coachella, at the very least, has never been as horrible as that. If you think most of those acts are obscure then you probably don't pay much attention to good modern music.
And you have to be kidding me if you think SXSW isn't as corporate as any other festival out there. It's not as corporate as Lollapalooza, but it's backed by wonderful companies like Mountain Dew and Miller Lite.

After some sleep my only comment is David Guetta over Noel and +30 acts... sorry thats fucked up.
Also Coachella has a preference for artists that hasnt come to the fest(only 30 has repeated on it since it begun)

that is a nice line-up. Weak headliners but the bands beneath them are outstanding. Another reason just to move to California ahaha

How are Kasabian behind Noel Gallagher on the bill?!?! No offence to noel but that's just not right! In the US it's definitely justified. Noel is a bigger name and he is playing stuff from his old band that sold millions of album in the US. Even if it was 10 years ago. And his album did debut at #28 even if it did fell off the charts in 2 weeks. Kasabian didnt even charted with Velociraptor on the Billboard 200.

Will it be a concern that Noel will have to deal with the same lack of interest he experienced at the KROQ gig? (Which could be expected for most bands in a festival setting when it's not all your fans). He didn't seem to enjoy it. He may hate doing this, especially since it's two weekends.
It's good exposure, but he'll probably have to accept the fact that the enthusiasm won't be the same for his own gigs or gigs in Europe.

Well he has to play some gigs with non Oasis fans in them to turn more people on to his music that wouldn't hear it otherwise. This is a good start. It might not have the desired results but it is definitely worth playing at. I went the year Oasis headlined in 2002. A great time for all.

He should refuse to play festivals on days that they have Radiohead playing?
Interesting marketing strategy.
But really...if we are looking @ casual fans that might be interested in Noel? People checking out Radiohead are fairly likely to be fans of 90's rock music because that is when Radiohead hit their peak...which is perfect for Noel frankly.
Better than being under Dr. Dre and Snoop Dog.

It's a festival. Many of the people who will be going will be causual fans of Radiohead. They're there to see multiple bands or one in particular and as Gd pointed out, if they do like Radiohead it will probably be because of their 90's work. It's not like he's playing a gig that Radiohead themselves are putting on (which wouldn't be too bad actually). He can't play with Radiohead, he can't play with the RHCP, sheez who's can he play with?
But he needs to play festivals like this. He has to expand his fanbase. Though his fanbase seems to have expanded a bit, for the most part he is a niche act, but like Beady Eye. His niche may be larger, nethertheless, it is a niche. He must expand his base of fans from being almost soley the Oasis hardcare/casual, to being a large number of new fans. These kind of festivals are needed and I think he should do more, especially in America.
Because in the end, when he comes to America, more so than any other country, all he plays to are basically Oasis fans. And I know that some will say who gives a shit about America, but it does seem as if Mercury wants him succeed and that they're are willing to push him in the US. So yeah, I'd like to see him do more of this. I'd like for him to get on more late night shows such as Jimmy Fallon or Craig Ferguson. I'd also like to see him perform at festivals/evetns like Coachella, Austin City Limits, and Bannaroo.
