Everyone has some amount of auto correction on studio versions, but this song has a bit of noticeable moments. Like when Noel sings "everybody's having fun" the second time, it's painfully obvious on the word "fun".

I wouldn't be surprised if there is autotune...but I'm sure he could have physically hit the notes if they'd wanted to take a few takes and pieced it together.
Are we actually doubting that Noel can hit notes it he has multiple kicks at the cat?
I would assume if it was used it's because they did it in a hurry and lazily. I can't imagine Noel toiling over this. He hates Christmas...and if anyone ever asked about this recording he'd probably slam it. I doubt they spent much time and it was easier to use the autotune than record multiple takes and cut it together?
This isn't Justin Bieber or Katy Perry where people question whether they can even sing without autotune...it's Noel. We know he can sing.

I don't get why people are so quick to attack the use of autotune, it's probably used to some extent on a lot of the songs on the new album and on many oasis tunes, that's just how music is recorded - everything is made to sound as good as possible with autotune and EQ etc. Nobody's doubting autotune is used on other recordings (well i dont doubt it), but this recording has some shit enough vocals not to have been autotuned. There's lots of effects on the voice : I think the recording has been altered by being slowed down or sped up at some point before mastering, and there's some slight reverb too, and like you said EQ, that's why it sounds weird. If it was autotuned, it would sound spotless. But it doesnt. I think it's just a case of lazy, hasty production.

Listen to the word "fun" at 1.42 as ponydigger9 says. The only processor that could possibly have made that sound the way it does it autotune.

... Or if you slow down a track.

No, because it's obvious that the vibrato/trill on that word is manufactured and if noel just sang the note on one consistent pitch then slowing it down wouldn't make the pitch change to create a vibrato/trill effect.

How do you hear if something is auto tuned? Can you give me a very obvious example, please? If it sounds like a song from the TV show GLEE (you must have at least been barraged by the trailers) then it's autotuned.

There has been way too much time devoted to this Christmas cover tune.

Frankly, I like Noel's cover here. Always good to break it out every Christmas. Good on yer, Noel!

99% of all albums released in the last decade have some autotuned vocals here and there.
and also... who cares?

AutoTune is the industry standard for vocals in the studio now, so it's used pretty much everywhere now -- from the vocals of a great singer to that of someone who can barely hit the notes.
There are some telltale signs of AutoTune, even though it's gotten a little more sophisticated over the years to make its pitch corrections a bit more subtle. But you'll typically hear what I call "bubbles" in a vocal, where the pitch kind of changes in an unnatural way that can't humanly be sung.
All that said...AutoTune can make a singer with a good voice sound even better. If you can't hit the notes, AutoTune makes your vocal track sound adequate, albeit still obvious that you can't sing well. If you're already a good singer and know how to sing so that the AutoTune complements your vocal, it'll sound golden.

Ok, people...there is a difference between autotune and other vocal effects such as echo and reverb. WTF!?
