Kim Jong-il is dead. Though I did find him to be obviously oppressive leader, I can not be jovial about anyone's death. So I will just say that I'm lukewarm toward his death.
Having said that, it will be very interesting to see how Obama handles this. If there's one thing that I can say about him, it is that his strong suit has been foreign policy. Say what you will. Even many Republics admit that he's been strong on that front.
Has he made a few gaffs? Yes. But even if you look at the best Presidents, you can always find a few miscues when it comes to foreign policy. That's mainly because America's foreign policy doesn't really change from President to President (which is unfortunate because I do believe that some things have to change about how this country does business with other governments), so they all tend to have near the same prat falls. But this President has definitely shown that he is a capable leader on the world stage. Which is probably the most interesting thing because when he was elected that was probably the biggest question about him.
Still, it will be very interesting to see how he handles this.

after the tragic loss of vaclav havel, it's only fitting that an evil dictator was taken down too.

Honestly...I can't see it really mattering. I don't know why anyone would bother celebrating his death. It'll most likey make no difference for the better or for the worse.
Presumably the dictatorship will be passed to Kims son, King Jong Un like it was passed to Kim Jong Il. And I'm not aware of any reason that his son will be cut from a different cloth than his father.
I would assume that the son has been engaged and was being trained to follow his fathers footsteps. I don't think there will be a significant change in the policy or aggression.
I think this will end up being largely a non-event.

has anyone seen the video where N. Koreans cry for his death? Shame that they are blinded by who they idolize and dont see that he and his father only did the best for themselves and not their country(unlike South korea where is a good nation to live in).

How can they possibly see past the propaganda? That place is airtight. Amazing that in the current age of global communication and information in real time they can successfull keep a population brainwashed. It's a feat in itself!

He should be mourned in Russia too, shouldn't he? Being born there?
