Who's the best?? Musically I say without a shadow of a doubt Whitey. I have Oasis live in Boston 95' playing just now and he makes the whole concert! Top drawer! Anyone know the real reasonas to why Noel kicked him out???

Whitey, not as good as his bro Steve though!
Steve is probably one of the best drummers around today

I can't remember where but I did read a quote from his brother (I think) saying "Alan just lost the desire to remain a part of Oasis" or words to that effect. I'm sure someone will have an exact quote or correct me!
Not sure whether thats 100% why or not though.

Whitey is exellent drummer, but Starkey is not bad too. Just listen to his performance in Part of a queue. But Alan is better.

Zak is one of the main reasons DBTT is so good. Yeah must be the way he beats those Wheaties boxes on Meaning Of Soul.. Zak seems like a class act to me.

i love alan and was sad to see him go. but zak is a far superior drummer, i mean the guy was taught by keith moon the best drummer of all time in my opinion and has handled his parts live now for sometime with ease.

Zak is much better than Alan ever was. Plus, I never really saw any substance in Alan.

ok. iam amazed that no one has mentioned tony mccaroll. haha. that guy was a joke. whitey was good for oasis. he had a bit of arrogance in him which was good to see. he was married to his ryde cymbal though which got really unexciting after a while. as sad as it is to see whitey go, starkey is a much better technical drummer and has made dbtt sound as good as it does. whitey could not make phsycadellic sounds like that. and plus the more bootlegs i listen to of oasis, whitey was out of time alot haha. his brother, i believed filled in for alan during the sotsog tour due to his tendanitis. hes not as cool as alan.

hmm.... Not too much of a creative mind that starkey is. Alan changed the face of Oasis, Zak just pounds the way through songs that couldve been better but they arent because of him. POTQ has a nice rythm n all but it's the same beat oooover and ooooooover and over from the beginning til the end.. For god´s sake just listen to lyla and mucky fingers... The Glasto Boot anyone? And well not to mention he has been playing My Generation for years, and Alan did a better job in that one.
McCarroll was not a better drummer, but he did a better job in the songs, 2 very different things.... It´s just my humble opinion

A few reasons I prefer Zak:
- he looks like a rock star when he's playing, Whitey looks like his arms are about to fall off.
- he gives new life - a lot of life - to old songs like RnR star, CS, Bring it on down, etc. My Generation is a LOT better with him.
- his drumming on each song is unique and fits the song perfectly. TMOS, TIOBI... A Bell Will Ring is fucking mega. His drumming on this album is one of the reasons I like it the more since DM. Whitey's been drumming the same on all the songs for years.

Alan White is technically a great drummer, Zak Starkey is a better 'rock'drummer. It is definitely more straight on. Tony McCarroll was also straight on, but he doesn't have the looks for a band like Oasis. Plus he doesn't hit in the rythm like Zak Starkey.

Liked Alan. No doubt, good drummer man I got used to the idea of Zak real fast - I mean he is a legacy of course ! and he's played with the best of the best.. SOUNDS GREAT TO ME ON DBTT ! I am stoked to see him at MSG NYC, philly and baltimore area in the fall. Now, a side comment from a chick's point of view. was cking him out on the DBTT DVD and ya know... he is kinda HOT - in a rock n roll kinda way ! Never hurts a band ! I like the eccentric and "a bit disheveled" look ! Love his voice and accent too. that never hurts with american chicks ! LOL ! I know I am not the only one. Discussed this with Pixie.
