I doubt I'll have a lot of support here, but I think Dream On is absolute rubbish. Possibly excepting some of the b-sides that were used to fill up singles towards the end of Oasis I think it's the worst thing Noel has released.
The Good Rebel fits nicely between Everybody's On The Run and If I Had A Gun... for me. That's how I'll be listening to the album from now on.

TGR is dull as dishwater and doesn't come close to matching Dream On.

TGR's grown on me, but Dream On is better. Amazing vocals on that track.

The Good Rebel is for me Noel's worst track since PYMWYMI, so easy choice for me

I think you're all mental How does that saying go again.... "If you think everyone around you is crazy then you're probably the crazy one" It's like that but better phrased.....

Even with all the bias I have towards anything Gallagher related, I can't like The Good Rebel, it's just very uninspired in my opinion.

Aaahh, don't you get this feeling of the sunny 90s from TGR? Geez, it cought me right away, on the first listen. And this 3 part harmony. Rebel is great, totally love it! And so is Dream On, so full of melody. All fun stuff - Noel was too serious lately and he knows how to write a crazy lyric now and then (like, say, She's Electric) and put it to very catchy music and Dream On is like a nod to that tradition. I pick Rebel, call me insane, just because it really caught me in the middle of last summer. Haven't changed my mind on it since then. Maybe it doesn't fit on the LP but it just works as a stand alone song for mey. aye tolo

You have really shitty taste, I bet you're a big fan of HC? TGR is one of the worst song Noel has ever made. Enjoy that and LBL at gigs, you must be more intrested in those than Talk tonight or DLBIA.

I like both - TGR is a good, although pretty derivative, b-side, and Dream On is a good album track. It's great to have those songs around between the epic anthems and ballads (EOTR, IIHAG, RM), and Dream On really fits the flow of the album. Voted for DO, as TGR is a little too obvious a rip-off imo.

Congrats on choosing my least favourite Oasis album and one of my bottom five songs I'm not arguing that The Good Rebel is anything more than average at best. I just genuinely think Dream On is that bad.

If you're looking for a great song to go on the album, try a simple game of genius. A masterpiece that only japan can enjoy on the album.

That's probably my favourite song from the "era", if you will, but I don't think it fits with the rest of the album. Maybe between Record Machine and What A Life? Or instead of Stop the Clocks? I don't know. Same sort of thing with Alone on the Rope.

Dream On-Good but goes on a bit too long. Glad to hear a lighthearted tune from Noel though. Love the verses but the chorus is pretty Noel-by-numbers but it's nice enough. The bridge is the best part easily.
The Good Rebel-Superb vocals, love the production. Like DO it's way too repetitive with the chorus and I prefer the verse melody. It's a bit below average for Noel but its a nice tune if you're in the right mood.
If I had to pick one I'd say DO is a step above TGR but it's hardly a "great" song. It is probably in the bottom three from HFB.

i love Dream On (and yes before liamgallagher1992 attacks me, i like the batteries line) On the contrary, i agree. I am a big fan of Dream On. I just think, although the lyrics are meant to be pure nonsense, i draw a line with the kids have drunk up all their lemonade. Could have been tweaked. I love it though, has a Be Here Now feel.

Hmm. Tough one.
The chorus is poor on both. The verses are fantastic on both. TGR is fantastic live, though.

TGR is catchy. Definitely great live! Dream on is okay, at best.

With DO, the verses and singing are outstanding but I dont care much for the chorus.

Thank you sir Anyway, what I find truly great in live renditions of Rebel is the quality of the harmony vocals provided by the band to Noel's lead. When I see him in march (anybody going to Berlin?) I will not know whose part choose to sing(along) aye tolo
