Briefly looking at the Beatles out of interest, I saw that generally, there wasn't really any one standout album which was significantly better than all the rest, and the same deal with most of their best songs. Which is a good thing I guess, they were excpetionally consistent. However, a question for the unbiased people who are into both Oasis and the Beatles, which will be answered by all the biased people (everyone ) Is What's the Story Morning Glory better than all/most Beatles albums? (assuming you agree that this was Oasis's peak/perfect album ect) and Are some of Oasis' songs better than pretty much all songs by the beatles? (The question sounds weird just being said, but its actually quite serious. I can only name a few Beatles 'standout tracks', which are probably Let it Be, Strawberry Fields Forever, Hey Jude - and to me, I prefer the Oasis standout tracks (Champagne Supernova, Wonderwall, Don't look back in anger) I don't know much, but am pretty prepared to accept that the Beatles were the better band. But I'd also like to know, were Oasis, when at their peak, just as good/ better than any specific time for the Beatles? (success indicative of nothing, just albums/songs)

I see where you're coming from, but I don't think any Oasis album is better than Abbey Road (and possibly Rubber Soul, which I prefer to Revolver).
I don't think Oasis' "best" track beats The Beatle's "best" track.
For example, I love The Masterplan - but does it beat Strawberry Fields Forever? No.
(Not sure if either of them are my favourite tune of each respective artist, but you get my point).
I think there are Oasis songs better than Beatle songs (obviously Slide Away beats Savoy Truffle by a country mile).

Or is it just a case of you acknowledging the influence of The Beatles on the music-world.

the beatles are the best ever - oasis is my favourite band ever. oasis is the soundtrack of my childhood and i guess thats one of the main reasons to choose your favourite band.

Anyone that doesn't appreciate what The Beatles are and how important they were simply hasn't listened to them enough.
Simple as that.
