Okay, I'm throwing this out there for all of you, because we're all Oasis fanatics here, and I'm posting it on this forum because this falls into the "I doubt it" category, but…
A friend of mine said he heard that the original, "working title" of "Lyla" was "My Love," that the song was pretty much as we know it now, except for those two words in the chorus, and that Noel changed it to some made up girl's name because the rest of the band was making fun of him, and he agreed, thinking "heyyyy, my love" sounded pretty goofy, too.
Now, my friend says he heard this (say it with me now) "on the internet," but can't remember where. I have found NO reference to this anywhere I've looked, especially not in any interviews, and I try to read every single one of those. I am thinking he's confused, and read this on some forum somewhere, and is thinking it's a direct quote from Noel.
So, I'm thinking it's complete BS, but I thought I would throw it out there, as an item of interest, and maybe to see if anyone had seen anything like this somewhere. (and not that I suppose it matters what "Lyla" might or might not have been called 6 months ago or whatever. Just thought it was interesting).

I heard the original words were ''I Love Blur''....it fits to the chorus doesn't?....Try to sing it and you'll see.. and now I shall walk in shame for posting that and waste your time

'hey lyla' is the catchy part of the song. and people have already heard the song in the video, he wouldn't change it after that..

its possible come on gents he did write she is love am i the only person in this forum (& possibly the world) who likes this song I like it too...it's enjoyable and happy sounding....probably some don't like it because the song doesn't have the anthemic feeling to it...but i think the purpose of the song is to create a certain pace for BOADC
