I guess you could call them the most succesful. It really all depends on how you classify successful. They certainly didn't sell the most records and didn't draw the most fans. The didn't pack the most stadiums they didn't win the most awards. But, in my oppinion what makes them the greatest is that they stuck to their values. They didn't try to change or toy with their sound or appearence they just fucked expectations of rock stars and did what they pleased. And the only reason that that makes them successful is that no one else did that. It's a damn shame that I had to say that but the truth is that if everyone did that then no one would be special. Back in the early days of rock n' roll the people who changed the face of music were the ones who were successful, but can you say the same about Oasis? The answer is yes. Not by being outstanding musisians or by starting a revolutionary new fad, but rather by being their selfs. They just did what they wanted and they never changed for anyone and that is why they're successful. Because in the 90's "musisians" were all about doing what the fans wanted. Oasis said fuck the fans just spit it out there and don't give a fuck. Success fuck yes
