It fits fine. Enough of this Tom Foolery. Also, it's Noel doing what he does best - twisting sayings around. He's twisting this saying around: 'Walk a mile in my shoes' This idiom means that you should try to understand someone before criticising them Right...I'm not basing it on fuckin' linguistics and its metaphor thereby subsequent context as it relate to that. I couldn't give a shit about that. It still doesn't sound right, like, the flow of the song and how he said that line isn't quite right. Okay....if you want context, okay, it's like he lost a particular rhythm when sayin' said line. Like the fuckin' iambic pentameter was fuckin' off-kilter when the line was said/sung. Wow I really think the exact opposite of that line. I don't think "walk in my shoes" etc... is particularly brilliant; but I like how it flows; with the "you now they don't" at the end. Really like it. I really don't get why you have the feeling that it doesn't "fit"...

And how they don't come out sounding right in the melodic context of that particular part of that particular song. that's all

One of my favorite lines of the album. Reminds me of " No one can give me the air that's mine to breathe." from DYKWIM? Love it's defiance..

it's actually one of my favorite lines in the entire album. I've always thought the song is about his departure from Oasis and that line in particular -in my mind- has got to be about Andy.

Reminds me of a line from My Big Mouth.

Also one of my favorites. I can't get over how perfectly "but they don't belong to you, you know they don't" flows with the melody...so the exact opposite of the OP's opinion, I guess

Nah, just listen to it again: the line still sounds cheap somehow. Like, I dunno, "True perfection has to be imperfect" in "Little by Little" kind of mularkey that devalues the tune a bit.

I disagree. Maybe you don't like it because it's based on a phrase you've heard before, so it's harder to take just in the context of the song.

Funny how youre giving it the big un now you're back in the land of the oppressed and mentally retarded. Ha, you're just a regular ole Morrissey, aren't yah?....Please, alpha, I'm a hater not a fighter---WOULD YOU SPARE ME THIS BEATDOWN?? Oh dear Lord, let me just keep walking on then, luv. (Ha, what an earnest cocksucker) Acting hard when in a different country to me; how brave and noble.

That line “Trying to walk in my shoes/But they don't belong to you” in “Everybody’s on the Run” seems a bit off and a bit forced. Doesn't fuckin' seem to flow well at all. You know what I mean? Brings the fuckin’ song down a notch, to be quite honest. You bring the fucking forum down a notch

youandmegirl is BEU. Notice how BEU's disappearance coincided with the emergence of this tosspot. Coincidence? I think not.
