Just wondering.
Mine was Blind Guardian in Sydney, even though the stupid owner made them stop dead on midnight. They had me singing Valhalla's chorus over and over again on the walk back to my hotel room (literally). For those interested, here's the actual Valhalla live, sorry about my head:
Runner up: Dreadnaught supporting Segression, Maram Canberra. Now I know why Dreadnaught can hold thir own (Remarkably better than the band after them)

I've been to many gigs this year again:
February:
Broken Records (seen them 7 times since 2008) The National
March:
Ed Harcourt Beady Eye
April:
The Coral
May:
The Rifles Manics London Calling (about 20 new bands from mostly the UK) + The Crookes balcony session for free
June:
The Kooks Miles Kane Arctic Monkeys Tame Impala
August:
The La's Stripped back (Lee Marves with unknown bass player)
September:
Fat Cat Tour (The Twilight Sad, Mazes, We Are Promised Jetpacks)
October:
Beady Eye
November:
Miles Kane London Calling (this weekend, various new bands)
and still to come, Noel Gallagher in the end of this month.
From all those, Ed Harcourt gig was very special. I've been a huge fan of him for years and finally got to see him this year. In a small venue and it was a brilliant gig. Also seeing Arctic Monkeys in Paradiso was very special as well. Shame that I couldn't make Patti Smith in June.

January: Anamanaguchi Two Door Cinema Club
February: The Radio Dept Arkon/Family Interpol
March: Smith Westerns WILD FLAG The Love Language Bright Eyes Crystal Castles
April: Cults LCD Soundsystem Cut Copy The Greenhornes Sharon Van Etten Neil Young Tame Impala
May: Pains of Being Pure At Heart Echo and the Bunnymen performing Crocodiles and Heaven Up Here
June: Bonnaroo (The Strokes, Arcade Fire, Black Keys, My Morning Jacket)
August: St. Vincent
September: The National Wilco The Rapture
October: WILD FLAG
November: Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds Atlas Sounds
December: Ryan Adams Beady Eye
I'd say my favorite so far was The Strokes at Bonnaroo. A bit short, but it was an amazing performance. LCD Soundsystem's last show at Madison Square Garden was very special, amazing 3 hour set, and Cut Copy a few days after was a fantastic follow up. Neil Young and Echo and the Bunnymen were legends that lived up to the title. The Love Language was the best new band I've seen this year, they were so full of energy!

TheImportance, I'm going to see the Bunnymen in Paradiso in January 2012. Love Bunnymen. Really looking forward to it. They still got it, it was one of the most rockin' shows I've seen this year. Mac is an absolute legend, went against the venue's very strict smoking ban for the whole gig. I had to miss the second half cos my train was leaving early, I'd love to see them again.

It's not allowed to smoke in the venues in Holland for a couple of years now too, but there's only 2 legends who always against the rule - Weller and McCulloch. I think I'm going to cry when I hear him singing "The Killing Moon".

But I still have hopes of them doing another round of Ocean Rain shows here. Hearing Silver live must be breathtaking!

I was blown away by Arcade Fire in September at Edinburgh Castle. The location of a gig is very important too, and there's not much better places than the Castle personally.

A new English band called Netherlands which I saw on Saturday twice - an acoustic session in a church in the afternoon and at London Calling in the evening. They only got a couple of songs to play, but they really stole my heart. Brilliant and talented young band. I hope to see them soon again.

Being in Iowa is really killing my ability to see lots of shows, as is being really busy.
June - Beady Eye July - Old 97's October - Rhett Miller November - Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds
But thankfully, all the shows I've been to this year have been awesome.
