Haven't listened to anything new yet. I'm considering not listening at all. Be nice to have not heard any new tunes by the time the next album comes around. By "new" do you mean this song and Freaky Teeth? Just making sure I'm not missing out on other new things.

What did you think? Be interesting to get a reverse reaction, something different from the people complaining that the recorded version isn't as good as the "original raw soundcheck" version.

I've listen to Freaky Teeth as it was unavoidable as I went to the 2 Toronto show.

I have never listened to soundcheck songs.... I think I'm going to keep up that trend I think that's the way to go. I wish I hadn't heard IIHAG and EOTR. I like being surprised by new songs, not sitting there wondering what will be different from what I've already heard. I listened to the new soundcheck song once and that's all I'm going to do. I barely remember what it sounds like so I'm alright.

I never even bothered with the soundcheck songs, I actually heard them around when we knew about the album, I think they sounded the same as the album versions, I remember EOTR sounded the same

I wouldn't hear every soundcheck versions, but for EBOTR or IIHAG, it was actually interesting to see the work progression of those songs. It's funny to see the achiement of the great song like EBOTR and remember the firts soundcheck version. In 10 years, when it'll be a classic, we'll remember "ah yes, well I've heard it since its first soundcheck". In itw, Noel seems very amused too that people have trie to finish IIHAG before he had even finished writting it, so he doesn't care. But he shoudn't do that to often.

This sounds great. I think I'm on the side of those who prefer the soundcheck versions to those on the album. Maybe it's because I've been listening to them constantly for over two years, but just Noel with an acoustic and an echo sounds perfect to me.
Nothin' against the album versions, though. Lucky to have both!

My friend won passes to Noel's soundcheck today in Boston. No new tune, but he did a phenomenal cover of Don't Think Twice It's Alright by Bob Dylan. I wish I recorded it but they were very strict, practically breathing down our necks.

The chorusy thing has the same melody as nirvana's in bloom.

Wow, how'd he win passes for that? Bostontweets is a twitter account that, obviously, talks a lot about the Boston area and he was offering two soundcheck passes and two tickets. WFNX, a local radio station, apparently had the same contest. We gave the tickets away to a mutual friend cos we had our own. It was a chilling experience, I really hope we get a good recording of his cover one day! I'm really sorry I couldn't get any, my friend barely took a picture before they told him to get rid of the camera. I'll admit, I teared up during it. I like Dylan's version, but Noel really brought the melody out by slowing it down a bit. Very pastoral, made me think I wouldn't mind Noely G making an all acoustic album and those were the moment where he really shone!
