It's a Martin but I don't know enough about them to know what model.

Why did he change from his Gibson acoustic?

Why did he change from his Gibson acoustic? Gibsons are a bit grand and boomy for the live show Noel is putting on.

At the acoustic tonight he switched between his Gibson and the Martin.

Martin guitars have a more bluesy sound, Gibson a big sound, if that makes sense.

Martin is very bassy. Taylor is trebble. Gibson is mids. J-200 is LOUD so it overwhelms other bandmates or voices, so he likes the Martin.

For anyone who is interested, i have just bought a Taylor GS Grand auditorium, cost me £1000 but it is well worth it, best guitar i have ever played, and Praetor is right they are very trebly

Noel and his wife were guests at Paul McCartney's wedding recently. Since the Beatles were given Martin D-28 acoustic guitars before they went to India in 1968, Paul McCartney has always used his Martin D-28 in concert (except when he plays Yesterday with his original 1965 Epiphone Texan). Maybe Noel took advice or suggestion from Macca. As an owner of both Gibson and Martin acoustics, I prefer the rich and full tone of the Martin. Noel's guitar appears to be a Martin D-28. It certainly sounded terrific tonight at the Beacon Theater.

Noel wasn't a guest at Paul's wedding. He denied that a little while after that report came out.
And he mentioned the Martin an interview on musicradar.com
He used the Martin on the record because someone had one in the studio and he picked it up and liked the sound. He bought himself one after the owner of the one from the studio wouldn't sell him that one.

I thought I saw a picture taken at McCartney's wedding in London clearly showing Noel Gallagher present.

Noel was very amused by the rumor but said it wasn't true.
Don't know where the pic you are referring to came from.
