so after i've heard the album plenty of times and now that we've got the first soundboard bootleg; what's your verdict about the album and the b-sides.
Album
1. Everybody's On The Run 8,5/10 - i love it. perfect opener, but i guess it could have been even better. it's a bit rush.
2. Dream On 7,5/10 - good tune. nothing special. i liked it from the beginning and it lost no power.
3. If I Had A Gun 9/10 - best tune on the album. he shows all his skills in this tune
4. The Death Of You and Me 8,5/10 - i love the vibe of the song. it feels like summer and the brass section was overwhelming after i first heard it.
5. (I Wanna Live in a Dream in My) Record Machine 7.5/10 - could have been a bit rockier in my opinion. but i like it. noels vocals on the demo are better imo.
6. Aka... What A Life! 7,5/10 - it's something different from the chief. not quite a dance tune though. good tune to drive to.
7. Soldier Boys and Jesus Freaks 8/10 - i love it. can't explain why
8. Aka... Broken Arrow 8/10 - my favourite at the moment. is it a theremin solo in the middle?
9. (Stranded On) The Wrong Beach 7/10 - i think it's a good live tune. nothing more
10. Stop The Clocks 8/10 - i'm amazed what he did with this song. love the end.
B-Sides&Bonus Tracks
1. A Simple Game Of Genius 8/10 - a definitely reminiscence on SOTSOG. wouldn't fit the album though.
2. The Good Rebel 5,5 - easily the worst song. don't like it at all
3. Alone on the Rope 8/10 - up there with A Simple Game Of Genius
4. Let The Lord Shine A Light On Me 7/10. it's alright. nice female vocals but nothing special
5. I'd Pick You Everytime 7/10 - two minutes stomper with a kind of mumford and sons vibe. like it.
so thats it then. can't wait for the AA-album. could be mega. noel doesn't disappoint

Exactly what I expected... Good, melodic tunes, but nothing groundbreaking. I hope for a lot more on his 2nd album; somewhat bored with this predictable release already!

EOTR 8.5/10- This song is incredible live from what I've seen on youtube. I think it is a great song, but not a classic "epic" as it is on the album. Needs another vocal hook somewhere or something to put it into Champagne Supernova or DYNWIM territory.
DO 7.5/10- Catchy as fuck, and I like the nonsense lyrics, but docked a point for the outro.
IIHAG 9.5/10 - Beautiful, emotional, simple, direct. Noelly at his best. The production gets a bit soupy, but it can't sink this song.
TDOYAM 8.5/10 - Underrated tune. Because it's been outstripped by other singles, I forget about how strong this is. Good lyrics once you get past the first few lines, love the way the verse blends into the chorus and the jazz solo is fantastic.
RM 9/10 - I love this song more than I should. It's the one tune that I think really needs Liam-not sure if it's Noel's style. But that guitar solo and closing middle eight remain my favourite 60 seconds on the album. Goose bumps.
WAL 9.5/10 - I severely underestimated this when I first heard it, thought it needed more of a hook, but now I realize that dance tunes work best when they're relatively simple. Every single non-Oasis fan I've played this song to loves it (not sure if that is a ringing endorsement, but still...)
SBAJF 7/10 - Interesting and pretty well executed, but I'm not a massive Kinks fan, so this doesn't excite me that much. Least favourite on the album.
BA 8.5/10 - How an earth can Noel get so many excellent songs out of the same 4 chords?
SOTWB 9/10 -The biggest surprise on the album. This is a great sleazy rocker. Sounds like a beauty live.
STC 8/10 - Another underestimated song-has gotten better. I think the guitar bit at the end is the best part.
Fantastic album. 9/10 for me (with DM and MG being 10/10 and BHN being 8.5/10)

Its a good album that flows really well. Its not a patch on any of his 90's output, but to me the songs are on a level of his ouput 2000-2008 and its nice that we have a whole album of that calibre again. Not impressed with how they sound live bar Broken Arrow which sounds brilliant.

Its not a patch on any of his 90's output So sick of reading things like that. What does that even mean? The way Noel uses the same 4 chords now isn't as good as how he used them in the 90's?

EOTR- 9/10 Got chills the first time I heard it.
DO- 8.5/10 One of my current favorites. The lyrics mean something to me, there's a very relatable yet illusive emotion conveyed in this song I think.
IIHAG- 9.5/10 Nearly perfect. Not crazy about the echo in it. Seriously, I see a sexy woman walk by while listening to this song I fall in love with her. It makes me think back to all my old crushes. I could see myself dancing to this at my wedding.
DOYAM- 8/10 Definite grower and definitely something new for Noel. The hooks and catchy parts of this song are subtle and I appreciate that.
RM- 8.5/10 If that middle 8th blew the fuck up at the end like the demo it would be a 10/10. It's like you wait but it never quite happens. That said, the melody, lyrics, style wouldve fit nicely on MG or BHN. I think I'd like it more had I not heard the demo.
WAL- 9/10- THere's something about how this is ordered in the album that makes it better. It's like a break or something. The tiger line is my fav on the album. GREAT song to drive to.
SBJF- 7/10 - Weakest on the album. I like a lot of things about it( lyrics, pace) but I think the melody in the chorus gets lost in the production.
BA- 9/10 -One of my current favorites. Love the delivery of the opening line, love the chorus– just love it. Could've been on the Masterplan.
SOTWB- 8/10 - THe lyrics to this song describe me so it's got a special place in my heart. Love the whole vibe of the song though.
STC- 7/10- Nice, but underwhelming. As with RM, I think I'd like it more had I not heard the demo.
b-sides
TGR- 7/10- Not Noels best but there's a catchiness I cant deny. Sounds great live.
AOTR- 7/10- Just loaded with potential. The payoff is missing for me here.
LTLSHALOM- 6.5- I like it. Doesnt fit or is good enough to be on the album though.
SGOG- 8.5/10 I love this song. Very Oasis. Doesn't fit on the album though. Like a heavy champagne Supernova. The intro is CS.
Overall, It's exactly what I expected and wanted. It's great. I really like DGSS but this is on another level. Noel has a subtlety in his song writing that BDI just don't get. I think this album is going to be a wonderful contrast to the AA album. All the critics will forgive Noel for playing it safe, because they will understand what he's doing.

EOTR - to me, its like Noel's Wigwam - 8
Dream On - Well, I LOVE the verses, lyrics and all, but the chorus is really throwaway and goes on way too long, so it averages out to - 6
IIHAG - one of Noel's best - 9
TDOYAM - really nice tune but quite similar to TIOBI - 7
Record Machine - Loved the demo, but this one, although it fits the album better, is missing a lot of what made the demo outstanding - 9
AKA WAL - Definitely like it but I'd still have to give it a 7
SBAJF - loved this one from the beginning, different lyrics from Noel - 8
AKA BA - Another great number, but theres something ordinary about it - 8
SOTWB - like the lyrics and music, but the song is ok. I actually like FON more - 6
STC - Nice to finally have a finished version, love the outro - 8
Total: 76/10 = 7.6 Seems right to me.
The Good Rebel - nice song but just fine as a bside - 7 IPYET - Now this one I love. Could listen to it all day - 9 LTLSALOM - Sounds like a great SOTSOG outtake but feels incomplete - 7 AOTR - Love the first half of it, but second half is ok - 7 ASGOG - Not as good as the soundcheck version! but its ok - 7

Who the fuck said anything about chords? I don't know shit about them and could care less how many what chords he uses. I listen to a song, I like it or I don't. Like I said I like the album but the songs are not on the same level as the songs which he released in the 90's. Comprende?

Yes, I now understand you don't actually know much about music.
Anyway, all I'm saying is that people should try and put aside the myth. Noel has released plenty of truly great songs post-WTSMG that, had they been released in that period of time when all people wanted was Oasis ('94-'96), would be equally as revered as any of the others.

You can quit it with the snide remarks kid, I'm as qualified as anyone else to have an opinion on what is good and what is not.
Yeh he wrote some tunes after that period which could be on par with the Married with Childrens, Digs Dinner, Hey Now etc low tier songs for that period shall we say. He's never reached the heights of the classics though IMO. Don't feed me with any bullshit on people not wanting Oasis after that period, if the songs were good enough they would be revered as such. They were still a big deal.

The album has exceeded my expectations. I did not especially like the STC and RM demos and I did not think the IIHAG soundcheck was so great as others thought. But now, I can't stop listening to the album. No doubt this is the oasis-related album I am enjoying more since BHN. I have also really connected with the general theme of the album: going through hard times together with your girl, trying to find a way out of difficult circumstances.
EOTR - 9.5 - For me, it is up there with the best things Noel's written. I literally have to stop myself from listening more to it, because if I keep overplaying it I am afraid I will end up ruining the song for me.
DO - 8 - It is a very nice tune, that could perfectly fit in The Masterplan album. Catchy as hell. But it is not connected with the general theme of the album and, don't get mad at me, but I miss Liam's voice in this one.
IIHAG - 9 - Universal, moving. Perfectly captures the feeling of long lasting love for a person you have been with for many years, going together through good and bad times.
TDOYAM - 9 - Musically, I think this is the song that feels better finished. Every little detail just fits into place. For me, perfectly captures the feeling you get when you are going through hard times but then, one day it's a sunny morning and you think, hey, we will find a way through this. That is why it sounds sad and uplifting at the same time.
RM - 7.5 - Not a fan of the demo, but it is very good in the context of the album. Still, I only listen to it whan a I listen to the whole album.
WAL - 8.5 - Its place in the album is just perfect, acting as a separation between two somewhat different parts: the first one more epic, the second more fresh. As others said, it has the potential to be a big hit with the general public. With respect to the general theme of the album, I think it is that moment when you say, ok, now I am going to fix this, now they will know who I am
SBAJF - 7 - Nice song, but probably my least favourite, maybe because it is not connected with the general theme of the album. Never skip it anyway.
BA - 9 - Excellent, so fresh. It's what Noel tried to do (and failed) with She is Love. This time totally nailed it.
SOTWB - 8 - The verses are great, the chorus is not as big as I would like it to be, but it fits perfectly at the end of the album.
STC -8 - Did not like the demo and, as a standalone song, I still think it is average among Noel's otput. But in this context, and as this particular album closer, it is nearly perfect.
------------- B SIDES ---------
TGR -6.5 - Good b-side, catchy, but I don't feel the urge of listening to it.
AOTR - 8 - I think it would fit perfectly in the album. It perfectly captures the melancholy of the bad moments, when you think you will not be able to make it.
LTLSLOM - 7 - It is also very good if you consider it is a b-side. Would fit very well in the AA album probably.
IPYET - 5 - It is a nice little song, but seems unfinished to me. BA captures the same feeling much much better.
ASGOG - 7 - As others said, it would fit perfectly in STOSOG. I think someone said it was written around these times. if that is the case, it again shows how that album could have been improved if only Noel did a more reasonable choice of songs.
-------- Live ----------
FT - 8 - I really enjoy it but I wonder if Noel did not relase it because the melody is so similar to House of the Rising Sun (although the vibe is very different). I think it may be a case similar to Step Out to that regard.

Everybody on the Run - 8/10 Really good opening song, like the lyrics and the production.
Dream On - 6.5/10 Throwaway lyrics, but a nice enough pop song. Took a point away for the way the poor production on the "come on" part in the outro, annoys me every time.
If I Had A Gun... - 9/10 amazing, one of the best songs Noel has ever wrote. The emotion of this tune is just beautiful.
The Death of You and Me - 8/10 A great modern pop classic. One of them songs that you can put on repeat and enjoy it.
Record Machine - 8/10 my favourite song on the album. Love it! The choir and strings have taken it up a level from the demo. Love it.
AKA...What a Life - 7/10 it's grown on me. Didn't like it at all at first. Nothing wrong with it, it's just not my type of music. However any song with the lyric "it maybe your dream but it tastes like poison" is alright in my book.
Soldier Boys - 6/10 nice Kinks sounding tune. Good lyrics, and a nice vocal. It's just not connecting for me at the moment
Broken Arrow - 7/10 sometimes this is a 9 other times it's a 5 so I've given it a 7. Sometimes it sounds epic to me, other times it drags. Sounds very good live.
Wrong Beach - 8/10 love it! Love the lyrics, love the vocal, love the way the song builds and the "wrong beach" part comes in the last four lines. Fantastic tune.
Stop The Clocks - 7/10 better than the demo. The choir and the strings add to it. The last minute is pretty epic.
B'sides The Good Rebel - 6/10 a nice rip off of a great Beatle track. Throw away B'side.
I'd Pick You - 6/10 She is love for 2011. Nice song needed to be a bit longer
Let The Lord - 8/10 love it. Should have been on the album. Love the epic feel, would love for it to be played live.
Game of Genius - 7/10 A good song. Would love to have some other famous Gallagher brother sing it.
Alone on the Rope - 8/10 Dark, moody & glorious. Not sure if it would fit on the album and I kind of like it as our dark little secret. Brilliant song.

Album
1. Everybody's On The Run 9/10 - Epic sweeping brilliance, definately one of Noel's best songs.
2. Dream On 6.5/10 - Catchy undoubtedly, but does very little else. Like the trumpet at the end though.
3. If I Had A Gun 6/10 - Still don't get the praise for it, its certainly not bad but just doesn't do anything for me. Also think Noel just had nothing for the ahhhhh ahhhh bits.
4. The Death Of You and Me 7/10 - Really like the brass but i'm still unsure about it, sounds to close to TIOBI for me and no where near as good.
5. (I Wanna Live in a Dream in My) Record Machine 8.5/10 - Love what they did with this, gem of tune, has a really lovely vibe about it.
6. Aka... What A Life! 7/10 - Not my favourite but definately needed to change the pace of the album. Works better on the album opposed to a single.
7. Soldier Boys and Jesus Freaks 6.5/10 - Its alright
8. Aka... Broken Arrow 7/10 - really like the groove of it. Top chorus aswell.
9. (Stranded On) The Wrong Beach 7/10 - Sounds pretty great live and i like the solo in the middle but it doesn't do to much for me overall.
10. Stop The Clocks 5/10 - Took everything that was good about the demo and threw it away. Sounds like Noel just threw as much shit at it as he could to make it work. Sounds like a bit of a mess to me especially the last minute.
B-Sides&Bonus Tracks
1. A Simple Game Of Genius 9/10 - Big tune, love the intro and the way it builds could have done with being on the album tbh.
2. The Good Rebel 4 - poor
3. Alone on the Rope 6/10 - Not bad or remarkable in anyway.
4. Let The Lord Shine A Light On Me 8/10. Like the atmosphere it creates.
5. I'd Pick You Everytime 2/10 - Rubbish.
