Just read a few threads wondering if Oasis are still popular in America and Canada. The link below seems to suggest they are. www.radioandrecords.comclick on formats, select alternative, there number 30, which is not bad. for Canada click formats, select r&r Canada and there number 14 in the canadian Rock chart.

Here you go striaght to it www.radioandrecords.com/Formats/Charts/Alt_Chart.aspColdplay in at number 10 also. Although the big question is will oasis be able to hold the number 1 spot in the Uk (presuming they get there of coarse ) when Coldplay release theres a week later Im thinking probably not

Stone roses never had a number 1 and there one of the best bands of all time! thats true...and besides, apparently the band doesn't really care anymore about chart success. I mean they've had enough to last 10 bands lifetimes. Still i hope they hold on to the #1 when they get it but its unlikely with coldplay

Although theyve only had 6 number one singles out of 19 singles ( i think ...) shoulda been more Although intresting fact if anyone didnt know when Lyla charts in the top 10 (most probably #1) they'll be tieing for the most consecutive top 10 hits in the UK chart history along with the....you guessed it the Beatles ;D

I've heard Speed of Sound on the radio more than Lyla. The Edge has been playing both songs a lot as of late.

in Southern Ontario its getting lots of airplay. Both stations I listen to 95.1 The Rock and 106.3 both play it fairly often. Although 106.3 plays a lot of Oasis in general. I still hear AATW, GLIO, DGA, THT and others from time to time.

no Lyla in Philly since our only alt. radio station was flipped to rap a few months ago!!! i do hear Coldplay everywhere though, as evidenced by their headline grabbing US top 10 entry into the singles market.

you know BONO believe it or not summed up the charts the best he said the charts are where atomic kitten play not us or OASIS ,and when we are there its the icing on the cake.....he can be cool when he is not savin the world and yes coldplay will be number 1 but if it was a battle between OASIS from 94-98 or coldplay ,,it would not be a contest when coldplay have a lp that sells 15 million i will revisit it

Coldplay have never had a UK number 1 single, so there is no guarantee that "speed of sound" will get there. Also its worth remembering that NO Oasis single has ever been number 1 for longer than 1 week. So maybe Coldplay will get it!

Of course Speed of Sound is getting more airplay than Lyla, Coldplay is absolutely huge right now--they are at the height of their powers. That being said, Lyla is doing great; #18 rock song with major music video play to come next week.

Hi, thanks for asking.. I cld go on and on about this topic but I am from the states and completely MADFERIT ! (mind you I am 5th generation Irish and some other stuff:) I grew up on British rock. Oasis are right up there with all the rest (I don't have to list em.) I have had a WICKED LOVE AFFAIR with their tunes since the mid-90's. The other half of their tunes have been like a friend/mate/companion over the years. (we all agree I am sure !) DBTT sounds PROFOUND and they STILL f-ing HAVE IT ! All the best to you in Manchester !
