I've found myself playing the non-album HFB tracks to death and wondered are they non-sardy produced? 'rope', 'simple' and 'lord' sound like how I hoped the album would - guitary, bassy, kind of better mixes really. are they from the sessions before sardy got involved?

I think Sardy only did the 10 songs on the album.

Yeah I'm pretty sure Noel recorded all the other tracks himself, get the impression from the album documentary that even the album was produced by Noel mainly, Sardy only came on board in the later stages and re-recorded the drums, and going by how thin and 'mono-ish' it sounds, more than likely mixed it as well. Don't get me wrong I think Sardys great producer, definitely knows how to get the best performances out of people, but theres something about his mixes that sound a bit too thin to me.

That's what i think as well, maybe he added a few more layers but it mainly produced by Noel i think. The bsides are probably songs Noel recorded again on his own but dont fit anywhere.
