You mean the ones that walk round wearing pretty green, thinking they're Liam Gallagher and throw cups of piss around? I love Oasis / Noel / Beady Eye but I hate 90% of the people that go to their gigs.

What a day, what a night. Great fuckin gig! New songs sounded great. The surprise of the night for me was how good The Good Rebel sounded live!
Just on my way back from The Motherland now, waiting for train. Will add more tomorrow. Oh and exact same set list of Olympia. By the way, I'm fucked! Long day.

Glad that you had a great day, basil. I'm really looking forward to see him next month. You mean the one's that intimidate you because they know how to have a good time? Hi everyone. Right, a few more details about last night:
The support act, 'Electric Soft Parade' were ok. 2 or 3 good tunes but mostly forgettable for me I'm afraid.
Onto the main act.........IGTBF is a fuckin cracking tune and I think it worked really well live as a set opener (I was surprised to see it as the set opener at The Olympia gig.) A good old sing-along to get things going. Hate it or love it, Mucky Fingers is a tunnneee live. Sounded Mega!!
EOTR, DO & IIHAG the first 3 HFBs songs were all again huge sing-alongs and then was the surprise of the night for me....How good was my least favourite HFBs song The Good Rebel live!! It sounded awesome. So, so, so much better than the studio version and it received a great response from the adoring crowd. TDOYAM was also sounding great.
Things went a bit quite for Freaky Teeth but I sang along to the parts that I knew. Loving the tune and can't wait to here a pro-shot recording/studio version of it. The intro has a great pounding beat and the chorus.......'Before Your God and Your Devil Takes Your Soul-ul-ul-ul is great.
As much as I loved the HFBs stuff, the second set highlight for me was the two track acoustic set of Wonderwall & Supersonic. They just blow you away man!! A superb moment for me, especially Supersonic as I'm like most hard-core fans and don't have the same affection from the over-played WW. The lights on the stage added to the moment, as they just shone directly from behind Noel and out over the crowd.
SOTWB is another awesome tune! At the moment, my second fav tune off the album and again was very well received. The encore of DLBIA, TIOBI and LBL again, was just vintage Noely G!!! All in all, yet another spine-tingling and completely awe inspiring gig. I'm a veteran of 16 Oasis gigs, including Knebworth, Main Rd etc....and there was a very small part of me that missed Liam last night, but just Noel for a little over 90mins will do for me!!!! In fact, just as every Oasis gig has done so previously, the little genius that is Mr Noel Gallagher, putting it simply, just fuckin blew me away. A great, great, great day, night and gig!!! 11/10.
See you down the front, back in The Motherland on 13th Feb!!!!
Live4ever!
Basil. ;D

Ps... Was planning on buying a T-Shirt and they did look good, but the state I was in, I just couldn't resist the temptations of the bar for yet another JDNC so the T-Shirt idea got shelved.
1 other thing, that I didn't latch onto last night was the wrist band thing. On the train, on the way home, I noticed a couple of girls with bright orange NGHFBs wrist bands on. Does anyone there last night know anything about these??? There was no 'pit' or anything like that as I was pretty much down the front??

Good write up Basil, glad you enjoyed it, did he have any banter with the crowd?

Thank you. Overall banter was kept to a minimum but yeah, he took the piss out of The Roses as they were supposed to be coming down to watch him last night, but they all cried off after The Manc derby result. He pretty much quoted his latest blog saying, 'Half-Term? Whatever THAT means??' Minimal banter but what he did say was funny.

What was the crowd like, or what have they been like on this tour? Just wondering whether to wear a mac to the Roundhouse as protection against the shower of beer and piss.
