Nah Magic Pie is overblown and the chorus of Genius is shockingly good...

I always thought that SBAJF was more like it. Well at least in melody. The "She will kiss the sky" part is almost exactly the same as "they are sleeping while they dream, but then they want to be adored" in terms of melody!

Thats pretty interesting since, in the context of this forum Magic Pie and SBAJF aren't exactly most peoples favourite tunes, but they are pretty much standouts for me

When I first heard "She will kiss the sky and shelter all the world from the rain," I immediately thought of "An extraordinary guy will never have an ordinary day."

I always hear a little Magic Pie in ASGOG, definitely. After the "...for you" and the little break, I could really see "you see me I got my magic pie" coming. (Good thing, as I love both songs.)

Love ASGOG and MP but dont see where your coming from, shame about the beatles references on ASGOG, almost as bad as the line 'so let it be' from Morning Son!

Perhaps, but it's not as euphoric as Magic Pie, not by any sort of the imgination. I've been listening to Magic Pie many many many times this past week, and frankly I love it. The guitar solo is epic, brilliant. This song gets hated on way too much. And yes, it's a damn shame Noel didn't include SGOG on the album.

Isn't the kaleidoscope eyes line taken from Those Swollen Hand Blues?

A Simple Game of Genius is genius. I'm not usually one to moan about song selections, but this one should've gone in the album.

Obviously the kaleidoscope eyes line is from Lucy in the sky but it is sang exactly the same way as a line from swollen hand blues. this was bugging me for ages after I first heard sgog as I knew it was similar to something else and then SHB came on my shuffle and there it was!
