I just had a thought... What it the song was left off the album because it was going to be released as a one off single like Whatever was as a way of kicking off the new album deal...
Oasis could be going 4 an xmas number 1?? It could be true... especially if its as good as Noel thinks!

I think Noel has really gone off this song. If you saw the Glastonbury interview with Colin Murray he asked Noel about STC. Noel said you will probably never see it played as it is too long and will only appeal to drug users. I have a feeling he had loads of enthusiasm at the beginning for the song but its withered away. Just my thoughts. Probably totally wrong and it is the greatest song ever, which will be on the next album (after this) to piss Sony off!!

He said you'd never hear it played live. It's acoustic and has lots of backwards stuff.

The only reason they didn't put Whatever on was that they would have had to pay something like 14% album royalties to Neil Innes (sp?) cos it's so similar to one of his songs

Ya, chances are it'll show up on the next album - Noel will want strong material to present to the new record company. This song has generated so much hype though, it's starting to become legondary. If it doesn't leak we may never hear it, or it could become a "Free as a Bird" type song and end up on some Oasis Anthology in 20 or 30 years!! Of course I don't want to wait that long

Has any one read Q?
Noel has stated that it 'may' go on the album but theres a bit of a debate going at the moment.
This will make it 12 tracks, according to the tracklisting Noel read out Stops the clocks will be number 7

I hope they rename it and never talk about it again. It's a shame though cause "Stop The Clocks" is a great title, maybe they could use it for the next album.
