No idea how credible this report is, esp. b/c it seems to contradict tons of stuff that Noel has said and done. Wasn't he just saying how he's hoping for a big record deal? Anyway, here's the report. Make of it what you will: www.sky.com/showbiz/picture_gallery/0,,50004-1177574-4,00.html Oasis are moving away from the lad rock that they have become famous for, as their new single Don't Believe The Truth gets a radical makeover - but only in the US. Noel, who told me that this could be the very last album from the group as he's working on his first solo album, also says that he is about to allow mixes of the track to include disco in an attempt to capture the US market - which has so far eluded them.
He told me: "We have sold out dates in LA and New York. The idea was muted to me and, while I have never been a fan of mixes in the past, these appeal as they won't be the cack-handed disco dolly stuff we do here in the UK. And of course, they will become a collectors' item.

Hope it´s not true. They´re not ready to quit it. I believe they still have something great to give after DBTT.

heres whats gonna happen, and you can quote me. Actually, I just taking an educated guess. Oasis will reach a new 2 album deal(no more and no less because i can't see them doing 3 and nobody as big as oasis signs a one album deal) with a record company in the fall of 2005 and release a new album quite quickly, probably in early 2006. Who knows if it''l have stop the clocks but its a decent bet it might because that might be part of the record deal. I can also forsee them never releasing StC and the 2 albums being absolute shite too. The fact of the matter is that DBTT has to be at least above average to get a record deal and the record deal may be contigent on the fact that noel presents some good songs(StC) to the new label.

its not just the music -altho that is exceptional. its the whole hype and excitement that surrounds a recording band and our hope for the future and speculating and discussing with ppl and on this forum. you know, it wont be the same. and living with the hope that maybe, just maybe, i'll see oasis live before they disband. im too young atm to entertain a practical hope that i'd be allowed to go and see them in another country for this tour so they have to hang on for at least another couple of years!and i believe they will.
so my ultimatum for oasis: come to singapore on this tour or you are so not breaking up for at least another two years, you vaginas!!otherwise i'll hunt you down and....make you play?!
-pouts- im not ready to let them go anytime soon.

If you've seen the NME clips you'll realise how rediculous a split sounds. The guy seem to be having a great time doing what they love. Why would they quit?

Couldn't have said it better - you're spot on. Let's face it, this is like a new band for our boys here. You may see some side projects in a few years, but IMO we'll see a few more albums!!

They better die at the appropriate time before they lose it though. We don't want the Rolling Stones here.

They can never truly split anyway cuz the heart of oasis is the gallaghers and they will always be brothers so if the did split after 2 or 3 years of boredom there would always be talk of a come back gig over a family sunday dinner or something
