about this much-vaunted "Stop the Clocks."
Is this indeed a song? For all of you who have heard some version of it, has it been reworked/retitled for the album?
My bet: if they haven't reworked it, or put it on as a secret track or something, they're saving it for the greatest hits album which I'm sure we'll see around Christmas season 2006. I know Noel has said he doesn't want to do a greatest hits album, and I applaud him for that, but I think it's inevitable. And these days, groups/artists always throw a new track or two on those things so the die-hards like us will buy it.
Then again, I don't know anything, so it may just wind up as a b-side. I would love for Oasis to release a stand-alone single again, but I think they're too big for that these days. Too bad.
I know, I know — you're as sick of wondering about what happened to StC as I am of reading about it. I'm just curious if anyone really knows anything. Previously, anytime Noel has singled out a new, unreleased song to tout, it has always shown up on an album, if not a single. We knew about "My Big Mouth" "I Hope, I Think…" and "All Around the World" from BHN years before the album came out. He was yapping about "Go Let It Out" as early as fall 1998, and "The Hindu Times" about 9 months before it was a single. So…
