The Australian Record Industry Association chart has been updated tonight. Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds has debuted at Number 16- underwhelming...
I was hoping there'd be enough good will for Noel to crack the top ten here, even without any radio support. Still, he beat Beady Eye's DGSS by one position- they debuted at Number 17! Like Liam and co, I would expect Noel to disappear from the top twenty next week. Incidentally, he is charting at Number 21 on Australian Itunes.
The Jonathan Ross program with Noel will be broadcast in Australia on ABC1 this Friday 28/10 at 10:30pm.
Come on Noel, announce those Big Day Out dates and get down here with Kasabian in January to show these lukewarm punters what they're missing out on!
It's great to see Noel doing so well in England and Ireland although Coldplay will crush everything in their wake shortly...

Hmm I would have thought it would of at least scraped inside the top 15, perhaps at 12 or 13. I convinced a couple of friends to have a listen of Noels new stuff and they were like 'isn't that the more sensible one'. Amazingly enough, two of them went out and bought it, they didn't even bother to have a listen of Beady Eye.

I couldn't buy it anywhere in Adelaide last week. Still awaiting 'stock from Sydney' was my reply from Beth Ditto look-a-like at JB Hi-Fi. Dirty mare.
