Yes comrades.
You might have guessed we've had a few days off. Back in London. Very nice it was too.
So . . . where were we? Santiago? Don't remember much about the gig. I'm sure it was stunning.
To be honest I was on cloud 9 after the football. I don't remember much at all. You'll know by now that we (Manchester City) pulled it off. In the most dramatic scenes ever witnessed. What a rollercoaster. We had it, we lost it, we got it back, we lost it again and right at the death we won it.
I went fucking mental and I don't mind telling you I might have lost it for a little bit.
I must have watched it a hundred times since and it's still blowing me away every time.
Anyway . . . oh yeah!! When we got to the gig that night just before we was about to go onstage my tour manager stuck her head round the door and says "the British ambassador is outside and wants to see you!!"
"What for?"
"He wants to congratulate you on Man City winning the league!!"
Fuck me eh?? Manchester City . . . the pride of Great Britain? Who'd have thought . . . .
You find me back in Japan. Got a little tour and a couple of tv things to do. Then a little jib over to Korea (the south . . . obviously . . . as much as I've tried that northern mob have remained immune to my charms . . . cloth eared communist fuckers!) where for the first time ever I will spend my birthday onstage!!!!!! Mad that innit?
ONWARDS.

Yes comrades. It¡¯s been a couple of days. This jet-lag is a fucker. Hardly slept a wink. So . . .
Did a show a couple of days ago at the Budokan. Quite a prestigious gig. Bob Dylan played here back in the day as did a little known band from Liverpool called The Beatles. It¡¯s quite a big deal. Up there with Madison Square Gardens, Wembley Stadium, the Hollywood Bowl and erm . . . the Boardwalk!!
Did it in the round and all, which I have to say I really like. That's the second time we've done that kind of thing on this tour and I love it. Not sure if the people behind the stage would agree but . . . y'know . . . fuck 'em!!!
The gig was great. Very hot. My old mate Alan McGee turned up to see us which was nice as I haven't seen him in a long time. Great crowd. The heat didn't help the jet-lag though. I felt rooted to the spot. It really is a killer that gear.
So, yesterday after being chased through the train station we jumped on the bullet train to Nagoya. Had a gig in a mega little theatre. Stunning. Reminded me of one of my living rooms!!
Remember that girl what coined the phrase "Noel or die"? Well, anyway she was there with what seemed like a brand new posh as piss sign. Thing is the "Noel" and "die" bits were in bright luminous yellow and the "or" bit was in fucking navy blue all sewn (by hand one would imagine) onto a black background so all I could see was a sign that said "NOEL DIE!!" It was only when the lights went up at the end of the show that I realised what the fuck was going on!!
Great gig though.
Back in Tokyo now. Got some TV show to do today. No doubt it'll be utterly bizarre. They usually are. Singing live vocal to a backing track. I fucking HATE that gear. Mustn't grumble though.
Right . . . I'm off.
ONWARDS.

what does "do it on the round" mean?

Paperback, I believe "round" means playing in an arena. In this case where Noel was in the middle and some people were watching from behind/very limited side views.

Well that tv show was - as predicted - fucking insane. It’s quite difficult to know what these Japanese shows are actually supposed to be about, but I'm guessing it was like some kind of version of our very own Top Of The Pops (R.I.P.).
It was all executed with military precision. For example they give you instructions like:
You will exit the dressing room at 8:34
You will enter corridor A at 8:37
You will shake this persons hand at 8:39
You will perform said song at 8:41 etc . . .
And the most amazing thing is it all runs like clockwork!
I was on with a load of Japanese acts one of which was a manufactured girl group called AKB48. I kid you not. There was maybe 30 of them all between the ages of 13-15!!! I suddenly started to feel very old.
The presenter was some old dude who looked at best like a James Bond villain.
It was loud fast and chaotic. Lord only knows why I was on there.
A good laugh all the same though.
Off to Osaka today.
That's all I've got for you I'm afraid. Jet-lagged out of my mind.
ONWARDS (and a little bit sideways!)

Yes comrades. So where were we? What day is it today? Sunday? It is here anyway.
So . . . back to Friday was it? Or Saturday? Fucked if I know anymore . . . I've had about 16 hours kip in a week!! So spaced out now it's getting psychedelic (I used to pay £20 to feel like this back in the 80's!!). Right well . . . I remember waking up in Tokyo whenever it was. Beautiful day. Caught the bullet train to Osaka was it? Got man handled at the station by an increasingly hysterical crowd of well wishers. They don't half like to scream questions at you over here. It can be quite an experience. Like a medium level bad trip. I mean what are you supposed to say when crazy birds are SCREAMING into your face . . .
"I LIKE YOUR SHOES . . . WHERE DID YOU GET YOUR SHOES!?!?!?!?!?"
Eventually got prized into the train, shades all wonky . . . dying for a piss.
Lovely journey though. Through what looks like beautifully manicured countryside. None of your unkempt foliage here mate! It looks like that kids toy gear, that Playmobil stuff? Like little Lego toy towns! I'm not even joking, it was like being on a giant train set in fact. I'm sure the Mighty I has got half the towns we passed through!!! A couple of hours staring out the window is my idea of a top day out. Arrived in Osaka. Chaos ensued. Running, shouting. More fucking screaming questions . . .
"WHY DID YOU NOT ANSWER MY LETTER!?”
“HOW IS YOUR WIFE!!? WHO IS YOUR CAT!?"
Or was it the other way round (who is your wife and how is your cat??).
All very strange. A good laugh all the same though. The gig was great. The best one of the tour I reckon. Now, you know the girl what made the sign that says "NOEL OR DIE!!"? Well, she must have read the last post and bless her she'd only gone and sewn on two White arrows on the sign pointing to the "OR"!! She also had made for me a couple of t-shirts to celebrate Man City winning the league. She'd substituted the eagle on the City badge for a Simpsons caricature of my face . . . thanks very much etc . . . but on closer inspection in big bold championship style lettering it said . . . (and this is so fucking true it hurts):
“MANCHESTER CITY PREMIER REAGUE CHAMPIONS 2012"!!!!!!!
Japan you are the bollocks.
See you next time.
ONWARDS.

Right comrades. Been a few days. Where were we exactly? On the way to the airport to catch a flight to the Ukraine I believe? Yes? I think so yes. Flight was delayed a little bit and thank God it was. The most violent, loudest and windiest storm passed over the airport as we sat on the tarmac. The plane was being blown from side to side, rain POURING out of the sky. I usually love that kind of display from Mother Nature but when the pilot comes on over the tannoy and says in what can only be described as a comedy dead-pan Russian accent "Good morning. Welcome to Aeroflot AF 83 (or something!) to Kiev. Time will take 1 hour 25 minutes. Enjoy flight.” Whoa!!! Hang on a minute man you're not actually gonna take off in this weather are you!? The engines started . . . (we are all going to die!). Now I'm not a nervous flier by any means, but I was seriously hoping the pilot would see sense and hang back a little until the storm passed. There was an audible sigh of relief when he comes back on and says "There will be delay of 20 minutes. Storm will pass.” Thank the holy lord Jesus Christ almighty we were saved!!!!!! After that it was quite an uneventful flight. Just how I like them. At customs in Kiev I noticed a peculiar sign as I was trying to enter the country. It was a list of things that one shouldn't really be carrying if one doesn't want one's day ruined by the police . . . amongst the usual suspects - gold bullion, plastic explosives and weapons (although there are always one or two of those on any tour!). There were also these two . . . WORKS OF ART (over 50 years old) and DRASTIC SUBSTANCES? ? Now, I have no idea what a drastic substance is, but I intend to make it my life mission to find out and hopefully sample some and relay my findings to you good people of the Internet (and/or mobile devices). So . . . Kiev? What a great place!! Loving it. Had great show on Wednesday. One of the top 10 of the tour for me. Only marginally spoiled by some fat drunken skinhead English yobs desperately trying to cause trouble. Thankfully one or two of them did and one or two of them got their heads kicked in by some locals. Kind of restores your faith in the unwritten law of karma!! Anyway, great, great night. Felt it all day yesterday though. Total wipe-out. So . . . there you go. I'm off to see England play Sweden. I shall try and avoid the inevitable blood-bath should England lose which is a very strong possibility. Although I foresee a draw so we, I and the great city of Kiev, will live to fight another day (so to speak!). ONWARDS. GD.

Yes, but he " marches up to me and with no pre-amble put's his fat fucking idiot arm around me pulls out his fat fucking idiot phone and says . . . I'm sure if maybe he asked nicely and didn't do it suddenly without asking then maybe he wouldn't be in this blog post edit: also keeping in mind that it is 6AM and Noel is feeling sick, oh and its cold & raining-which Noel put in his top 10 things he hates video another edit: aand all he says is "Quick picture??", would someone following Noel for years just say that and only that?

29.06.2012 17:47:
Some young 'uns did get a bit excited . . .
So . . . now then . . . yes comrades!!
I've been having so much fun that I've forgotten to send one of these things for ages. Sorry 'bout that but you know how it is (or maybe you don't?)!
Anyway let's see what I can remember eh? So, if my memory serves me correct I was in Stuttgart, in Germany, with a dirty little cold worrying over whether to pull the following night’s gig or not? Is that right? You tell me? I think so. Got dosed up on hot whiskey and Lemsip (the blackcurrant ones!) and sleeping tablets (to be taken responsibly young 'uns . . . just saying). Woke up the next afternoon in a very damp bed, freezing cold. It did the trick though. Felt well enough to get up and get down (so to speak!) and lo and behold the gig was fucking mega! The wiggers had done the trick!! Onwards to Hamburg feeling much better. Another day on the hot wiggers and Lemsip and ANOTHER top show! Who'd’ve thought? Not me that's for sure.
Think we had three gigs in a row which is unusual (for me anyway) and the next one was a big one . . . that Isle of Wight Festival. Reports on the news made it sound like some kind of recreation of a 1st World War battlefield. Now, I've never been to the Isle of Wight, so I was looking forward to it very much. Woke up in the New Forest and yes!!! The sun was out! It was actually sunny!! So much so that me and Nancy went for a lovely little middle-class walk amongst the flowers and the bushes and the trees and the horses . . . actually that might have been the day after . . . not sure, but I do remember walking amongst the flowers and the bushes and the trees and the horses.
You have to get a ferry to the Isle of Wight and I'll tell you something comrades, it was most pleasant. We even went up on deck and took photos . . . of what I'm not quite sure but photos were taken all the same. We had ANOTHER great show . . . the third great show in a row, which is unusual (for me anyway). This drinking whiskey malarkey is fucking MEGA!! Great crowd although some young 'uns did get a bit excited and lighted up a few flares and one did get lobbed on stage but no damage done and it added a bit of chaos to the proceedings which is no bad thing. That fella "the Boss" approved 'cause he was watching from the side of the stage and was laughing his little head off!!
So then we had a day off in the New Forest. The hangover wasn't too bad. More than manageable. Flew into the great city of Dublin that night for a gig the next day with them Red Hot Chilli Peppers and guess what? ANOTHER GREAT SHOW!!! That must be some kind of record? It must be. I can't ever remember doing 4 GREAT gigs in a row? Considering 5 days prior to that I was gonna call the doctor out for I sick-note, I'm pretty fucking impressed!!!
The singer from that band U2 came to see us with that fella Danger Mouse. It was great to see 'em. We had to leg it early though, back to London for an all too brief visit to see Bunny Dread and the Mighty I . . . that was yesterday . . . and today I'm in the very wet city of Oslo in Norway.
And that comrades . . . is that! You can consider yourself up to speed.
No doubt tonight's gig will be shite.
I will let you know.
ONWARDS.

Comrades . . . this will be a long one.
So, the last time we spoke was when? 2 weeks ago? Must have been? Was it? Hang on . . . let me check . . . that's right . . . it was the night before the festival in Belgium. OK . . . right I'll get my thinking cap on and give you the lo-down (as best I can anyway!).
So . . . I remember the festival being quite a big one. Massive crowd. Big guns headlining. Think it was them Red Hot Chilli Peppers on my night (yes it was!). The show itself was OK. Not bad. It certainly broke the run of amazing shows that's for sure. The best thing about it was I was introduced onstage by Vincent Kompany, Manchester City's captain. He's from Brussels see? And me and him were going to do the launch of the new Manchester City kits for next season. Both of these occurrences were a true honour. Vinnie's a top boy. Might actually be the coolest lad on the planet. We hung out after the show and watched the Euro Championship final. Happy days!!
The next day I had to be up early to do the football kit thing. Hadn't actually gone to bed 'till 4am so I wasn't feeling (or looking!) the best. Vinnie on the other hand had managed an early night and turned up looking like the super-cool, well oiled athlete he is. I on the other hand stunk of cig's and alcohol looking every bit like the 45yr old father of 3 that I am. Not good. Not good at all. In all my time in this game that might have been the single most difficult thing I've ever had to do.
At one point I think I was sweating pure alcohol. Imagine doing that while one of your heroes looks down on you and asks if you're alright, while a photographer snaps away asking you if "you could just get a bit closer?" Did it though and the kit looks the bollocks.
So, after that I remember we flew to Montreux in Switzerland for a show at the "Montreux Jazz Festival"!! That's right, you heard . . . "the Montreux JAZZ Festival". Not sure what I was doing there but a gig's a gig and what a gig!! A right good laugh and all. And I got presented (on stage which was a bit weird) with a very expensive watch by the founder of the festival Mr. Claude Nobs (pronounced CLOUD NEBZ). Worth €3000!! Or so he informed the audience anyway. Thanks very much Mr.Nobs . . . just what I've always wanted . . . my very own jazz watch!!
After that we drove overnight to Milan. I love Milan and Italy in general. Weather was mad hot. Must've been nearly 100 onstage!! Not as hot as Coachella but proper sizzling all the same. Show was alright. Nothing more, nothing less. I remember being taken out for dinner after to some swanky footballery type gaff. Very nice it was too . . . Beckham used to go there I'm told.
So . . . after that would have been T In the Park? Yes, I think so!! Horrific weather. Dark black clouds. Torrential rain, rain, rain. Mud every-fucking-where. Horrible . . . and that was just BACKSTAGE!!! Lord only knows what it was like out front? Still (and this is truly amazing) it never spoiled the atmosphere. The crowd up there are something else. Unbelievable behaviour. Well done!
We had a great show bar a couple of hic-ups here and there but we smashed it!! We were on before the Stone Roses. It was great to see them AND to see them enjoying themselves. A great night all round.
After that we flew to Birmingham to do a little acoustic gig for that radio station Kerrang!! That's right, you heard. A heavy metal radio station. Don't ask . . . I didn't. It was good though.
So . . . after that we flew here to the south of France. Fucking plane was full of young people (off on their holidays one would imagine). Giggling girls and boys with sideways haircuts and girls jeans on . . . that's what it looked like to me anyway.
I think that's about it. Got a festival tonight. A big one . . . it must be big 'cause the mighty Franz Ferdinand are headlining!! What was that?? Of course they're still going!!!!
ONWARDS.

Yes comrades. . . been a long time. Been on my holidays see? Very nice it was too. Went to a place called Spain. Mallorca to be precise.
So . . . as I remember the last time we spoke I was just about to play at that Edinburgh Castle? The show was pretty good as I remember it. Didn't rain anyway which is always a bonus up in Scotland (which is where Edinburgh is!).
Now after that we had a few days off. Then flew to Japan for 72 hours to do that festival Fuji Rock. Very good it was too. It didn’t rain there either which might be the first year that's ever happened. Managed to stay on English time so didn't feel too bad at all. I almost enjoyed it!!!!
As I was sleeping all day and up all night I managed to catch that Olympic opening ceremony which was on Japanese tv at 6:00 in the morning. Very psychedelic. Didn't see it all mind. How long did it go on for? 9 hours or summat? Good though eh?
Arrived back in old England and because I'd stayed on UK time guess what? NO JET LAG!!!!!!!!! Unbelievable. I'm definitely trying that next time I'm over there (whenever that'll be I don't know!).
Anyway . . . after that me and Team NG legged it to Spain for a week or so. Needed it to be honest. Nowt like sitting in the sun. When we got back to old England we'd managed to blag some tickets to that last Saturday at the Olympic stadium. Now I've been to the biggest sporting events on the planet and I've done some monster shows but to be in that stadium and feel the noise and witness the fitness of the great Mo Farah was simply incredible. I have to say when the toffs what run our country started spouting waffle about the Olympics and how it would bring out the best in us blah, blah, blah I was - like most of us I expect – thinking "oh fuck off!" and I've never been one for that last night at the proms bollocks (it's the Celt in me see?) but I have to say they were right. You couldn't fail to be moved.
Saying that - thank God the football's back. I was up at the pre-season kickabout that is the Charity Shield between God's own team and some other mob called "Chelsea". We won. In style. Looked awesome. I'm very excited about the new season as this tour finishes in November, which means I'll get to see most of it!!!
Now . . . that brings me to Wednesday night. Did a little acoustic gig for that charity Warchild at that little club in Camden called Dingwalls. Great night. Rowdy as fuck. Could barely hear myself think!
Which brings me to today and the here and now. You find me in the great city of Vienna in the great nation of Austria. Back on the festival circuit. Not sure how any of the songs go now. I'll have to wing it.
Wish me luck.
ONWARDS.

We have a couple years before he starts mentioning how the moisture effects his bones. He does whine a ton about the cold. He came to Chicago and was fairly down on the weather. It was actually warmer than usual for Spring when he came around. Maybe he's starting to become more like Morrissey with the weather. When Morrissey came, he continually addressed the crowd as ChicaCold.

He should move to Orlando and be done with it. It's British-central around here anyway. I'm the one with the accent when I'm down the street shopping at Publix. Maybe Noel will bring his kids to Disney World, and I'll bump into him on my way to work.

Kind of wrong of him to tease us with the paragraph about the Olympics and not mention one word about, well, you know...
He's probably read the posts on this board and is quite sick of all the drama himself, so he's avoiding it like the plague.
