I feel like I should listen to some of these since you seem to think this was a good year musically (realistically speaking this is my first year listening to actual music, so I have nothing to compare it to), but a lot of the music up there isn't strong at all. Hard-Fi and the Wombats albums are significantly worse than their predecessors IMO, and as much as I am a fan of BDI (Liam), I still can't call Different Gear a very good album.
Arctic Monkeys, Yuck and Noel Gallagher are (from those) the only ones which I think will last - although to be fair, I haven't really tried anything (or much in the case of Los Campesinos/the vaccines) from the others.
Of course, most names have to be reinforced a few times before I actually bother to sit through an album, Eva, I think yours was the pushing point, now, to the Black Keys!!!
