In the track by track interview on XFM, Noel mentioned that he was thinking of naming the album 'Somewhere In Between' but then later decided on the High Flying Birds title.
So what do you think of this potential album title? Would you rather had it over 'Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds'?

I can imagine journos printing reviews claiming Noel being 'somewhere in between' oasis splitting up and reuniting...

It's a lyric from Stranded on the Wrong Beach. Im sure there were various other titles being floated around as well.

I don't know, I would've been okay with that... Just some other suggestions based on lyrics from the album: "Over the Sunset, On the Horizon" "Heaven On Holiday" "Serene In The Air" "The Bitch Keeps Bitchin'" Y'know, just some suggestions...

I can imagine journos printing reviews claiming Noel being 'somewhere in between' oasis splitting up and reuniting... Absolutely! And it's a poor title anyway IMO.

A Simple Game Of Genious whould be the most appropriate title in my opinion.

I think the album should've be called either "Everybody is on the run" or "The Death of You and Me."

I think the meaning of that title would've been 'somewhere in between Oasis and the AA album' as he started the AA album first and that's what he really wanted to do but then he made this, more usual album first.

Simple Game of Genius would have made for an epic album title, me thinks

I think the album should've be called either "Everybody is on the run" or "The Death of You and Me." Yeah either of them would've been cool.

Never really been a fan of Noel's album titles. Be Here Now was, appropriately, cool at the time and Heathen Chemistry is still a great one, but the rest are naff.

Have to agree with the post above. Heathen Chemistry is such a fucking cool name, its such a shame that the album (or artwork, fuck man!) couldn't follow suit.
Be Here Now was, is and always will be an awesome name.
(And maybe its partly the music that has now become associated with the title, but I've always thought that Whats the Story Morning Glory and Definitely Maybe were cool album names with their meaninglessness and ambiguity - less now that both have turned into names of movies)
Somewhere In Between is a little average to be honest. For an Oasis record maybe, but in this case, better to just go for it, call it Noel Gallagher and let the music say anything else.
