I think Noel considers himself mainly a songwriter, not a guitarist.

Certainly he does, he's got the talent though, with a better rythmic section he could allow himself to veer off. Just a shame he underrates himself so much.

I love to listen to Solos. Freebird.
The moment when you move your head back and listen to a guitar solos is what I love. Combined with the LiamGallagherClassicVoice is what got me to love Oasis.

The last refrain of "Stay young" when the solo continues and Liam sings over it is pure magic.

As Noel said: The younger Noel wouldn`t like the older Noel. "Don`t have to do that Rock thing anymore- that was macho Oasis- Now I´m old and I write universal songs. "

I think when Gem came along, Noel had to let him having solos, so he lost interest in those, he continued to do the old solos because he was used them but he didn't do much of the new one. So he started singing more. I personnaly love seeing him donig solos, like during the BHN tour, he seems really into it and he's fuckin good.
