BDI Sales = 166,609 until January 2012. Noel = 636,500 I always understood that Noel would be more socially acceptable music, but selling 5 to 1 is simply insane. Better album with less bravado equals huge success for Noel. Mind officially blown.

Could anyone tell me how many copies they sold when the record is on chart #96? Just curious. It seems that TIME FLIES sold stably in several weeks past.

The album at #88 this week sold 1,606, so a bit less than that. That's actually quite good for an album released years ago and the album was mainly just bought by die-hard Oasis fans

I would assume that Time Flies sales aren't predominantly diehard fans. I would think exactly the opposite. Best of's and singles collections are targeted at casual fans. So they can buy all the songs they've heard on the radio without having to buy all the albums.
Things like The Masterplan or live DVD's are aimed at massive fans.

Disagree RE The Masterplan. Diehards already had all those songs anyway.

HMV have Time Flies at 2 for £10 for their Best of British promo, probably got some sales from that i would imagine.

Disagree RE The Masterplan. Diehards already had all those songs anyway. Daresay more people on this board own The Masterplan than TF. Not every big fan collects singles. Particularly if they haven't been fans since 1994 or if they live anywhere other than than the UK. B-side collections aren't aimed at the casual fan they are aimed at people that are already fans. Point being Time Flies is far something bought prodominantly by diehards.

I wish I still had the urge to finish my collection or I'd finally buy the Songbird single and the rest of the DOYS singles.

24 this week. Big jump. I imagine the renewed interest is because the new WAL ad and it's on sale on iTunes.

What masochists are are still buying that epic turd? haha. I know. For better or worse Coldplay are one of the biggest acts in the UK. No shame in them being above you in the charts.
