In the US and Canada. It's 2 weeks from release now and they still don't have it available for preorder? Why not?

Could you preorder for me also and I'll send you a money order later on, like?

There probably won't be a preorder. The Black Key's project, Blakroc, was put up on the store the day it came out.

I've been going by my HMV and even there, they have no sign of its existence. Usually a month before, it will be advertised as coming soon.

I checked Japan iTunes a few days before release and it still wasn't there, so maybe some albums just go straight up in certain countries?

I still dont understand the staggered release date. If they are holding the cd's back because they dont have enough pressed, I understand. But by not releasing the digital version at the same time, I can see a lot of people not purchasing the album. Any American that really wants the cd already has it.

Staggered formats would be even more stupid
They are staggering the release so Noel could be physically present to promote the album. Doing Letterman and radio, etc.
I am sure it wasn't that they couldn't get physical version pressed in time for the US.
He Is gonna have a hard enough time charting in the US without staggering formats.

Not if the format release is staggered.
And from what I understand a top 20 album isn't anything to scream from the rooftop in terms of sales

If it's top 20 the OK. I wouldn't think to complain. I think top 10 would be an great achievement though.. I just mean that there is no way Noel would be able to do that he staggered format releases. It's questionable he could even do it now.
