The weirdest thing for me isn't where he's standing, it's who's surrounding him. THAT part of it will take some getting used to for me.

I thought it was funny when I first saw that video that they set the stage up the way they did even though Oasis was only going to be playing Falling Down...with Noel's strong dislike for being in the center of the stage, it makes a bit more sense now.

He'll be ok, he's just finding his feet as they say. He's gonna be uncomfortable having to be stuck centre-stage, once he's more confident then he'll enjoy it more himself (and we'll notice that ourselves as well)...

That newest IIHAG playback version is much worse than the TDOYAM performance where he actually sings. I think he feels better about being a frontman while he can actually focus on the singing, as that's something he has done for years. When miming to playback, he doesn't have to do anything - he just stands there as the frontman, which makes him a lot less comfortable. Anyways, just wait a week or two until the first gigs.

Everyone seems to be quite sympathetic towards Noel here. Am I the only one thinking why does he keep mining/singing over records. When are we gunna get our first full band live performance, with everyone playing their instruments propperly and actually singing??

He looked a lot more comfortable last night on the ZeGerman kinky game show, and they actually looked more like a band to me

If anyone thinks Noel is choosing to mime or use playback for the band then they're fucking idiots.
It's all about the rules and regulations of the TV shows that he's playing on.

My first Oasis gig, what a night!
I think it's just the fact he hasn't got his old band around him anymore, so he feels more alone. Watching performances like this you know there's nothing wrong with his confidence or ability to sing a song on his own in front of thousands of people.

It won't be great seeing Noel live, it'll just be ok. Simply because when you spent 20 years being in a band ith the best frontman ever, you can't mesure up to the level. Noel is not a frontman, he can do the show during 1 or 2 songs in Wembley, but that doesn't make him a frontman. When Liam was on stage, you couldn't look at anything else, he was standing here, grabbing the audience, he was the show, even of he was doing nothing more than sing and standing still. Noel wil never, ever mesure to that, he's just not a frontman and perfectly knows about it.

He will be ok as soon as he performs in front of an audience full of people ready to carry him along and forget about what he's supposed to do and just enjoy himself.

I find it hilarious how you're all talking about Noel as if he's a complete noob in the music industry. He looks out of place because the whole fucking concept of performing playback and looking cool at the same time just isn't possible. He won't be like this at all at the live gigs.

it's just a nonsense thread. he is performing for 17 years now. i can't see any lack of confidence or whatever. you people just pick up what he said about not liking to be a frontman and interpreted every single fucking performance.
it will be the same thing on the concerts as always. just without liam. he will perfom as always. he will look a bit bored and doesn't talk to the crowd that much just like in oasis.
stop talking so much about it. he isn't a newbee

I will agree with you about Liam though. He banged on his little tambourine and paced the stage so effortlessly but, the ENTIRE crowd were watching. Noel will never be able to capture an audience in that respect. Some ppl are just born with it. I give it about 10 gigs in and he'll be ok. lol He's probably more nervous about his first real live concert than having his first born. He shouldn't really be wearing these heavy coats/jackets. they make him look super bulky with him having a strapped on guitar and even bulkier if he's rocking an acoustic.

Maybe we should all just cast our mind back to the gigs he did with just Gem. Or, for a even more accurate comparison how about MTV Unplugged where he was put on the spot and must have been feeling pretty damn uncomfortable, but succeeded nonetheless.
Just food for thought. Hope you're all have hungry minds!

I couldn't watch that clip all the way through!
so who is the guitarist in the band now, anyone know?
I know this one is all about Noel, but Beady Eye sure win in the 'look like a band' stakes, a thing that was always extremely important in Oasis...

If I Had A Gun is fine. Do you want him to kiss arse and do backflips? Go and watch JLS if so.
