Yeah it's becomig a bit of a trademark.
Also entering a chorus with slightly altered lyrics. Like "fly me to the moon..." or "let's run away to sea...". There are a few more examples on the album too, like in Broken Arrow.
I think I remember reading an interview with Andy Bell saying something he learned from Noal was that he never came out of a chorus the same way.
I suppose every songwriter has their own habits and patterns. I quite like it personally.

I think it's a bit too predictable. Not in any way does it take away from the song, but it does get a bit annoying at times.
Like on IIHAG, it could've easily just ended the same way but without him repeating the first verse. I understand that it includes the name of the song, but still... songs like that need to just end with the melody, like for example SCYHO.

I bet Chris Martin co-wrote those songs

Chris Martin couldn't even write some of Noel's worst songs... he'd be proud to even write She Is Love cos it's better than any of the shit he's written himself

Well, it's better than the 1990s where he would repeat the same thing again.....It's nice hearing a slight variation as the song goes on. Perhaps he is relying on it too much, though.
However, I love the "broken by the sea" part in IIHAG. One of the best moments in the entire album.

^"seams", actually ;D That first verse at the end thing actually works pretty well on IIHAG and SOTWB, imo.

I like it as a songwriting technique.

It's interesting that one would brand Noel as a lazy fucker given the quality of the songs we have in front of us and the fact that most of them have proper lyrics all the way to the end when he repeats the first verse and all the work put into the album having played all the instruments, co-producing, mixing, etc.
Just saying...
