Noel is interviewed in this months Word - was on my way to get a train so no time for photos - but interestingly he says he's only written 3-4 songs since the Oasis split. This has got to be an exaggeration!

WAL, Broken Arrow, Wrong Beach, TDOYAM and SBAJF are all post-Oasis. Probably some of the b-sides too (not TGR).

It wouldn't surprise me. Judging from all the interviews this past year, it seems both Noel and Beady Eye have raided what's left of the Oasis cutting room floor for their respective debut albums.

Well in the last 2 years Noel has either been doing fuck all at home, or has been in the studio recording. So it wouldn't surprise me if he hadn't many written.

I guess Noel's gotta do a little more "fishing" for a tune in the next year or so.

He hit his purple patch during the recording and on the tour for DOYS. So just because they were written before Oasis split doesn't mean that they were finished in time to have been considered by Oasis.
And like everyone said. He has been in the studio working on 2 albums and having a busy family life for 18 months. He only really had less than 6 months off during which I am sure he just wanted to forget ever being in a band and going through demos mre than likely. His first day in studio was the night of the Brits in early 2010

If this is true then he must have written A LOT on the last Oasis tour as he says only RM and STC date from before DOYS.

Maybe so, but he's got TONS in the vaults, and is sure to write more.

Yeah it's interesting that he said there'll be no Oasis anthology style box set because theyre all his demos and he might use them.
He's also said he doesn't write at home but when on tour, so hopefully album number three will be getting written this month ;-)
He literally must do nothing in his time off but sit around in his pants watching films!

If thats the case then I actually can't wait for album number 2 from Noel. See what direction he's gonna take, probably Neil Young, Dylan, Donovan kinda thing. Right up my street

Gdforever I wish you'd stop referring to Noel's purple patch. Makes me think he's had an accident after drinking too much Ribena ;-)

PS This "only written 3-4 songs in the last two years" statement is all the more amazing given that he's claimed to Jeff that he has the next two albums (post AA) planned!
Adds credibility to Liam's claims that he held songs back from Oasis. I find his argument that he had to write stadium rock songs for Oasis annoying. He could've put out anything he liked under Oasis - he was Oasis!

Well technically EOTR, IIHAG, and probably TDOYAM were written during the DOYS era. I would consider those new, even though I don't think Noel is here.
And wow, I've never seen Headmaster so worked up before about trying to prove his point. While I normally agree with him, I simply don't here.

I'm sure Noel has a mountain of songs to choose from. There's even an albums worth of songs we know the titles of and songs we have on bootlegs.
I'm sure the same goes for Liam. Gem and Andy didn't release any solo albums during Oasis so they have a pile of songs too. I think the only difference with Beady Eye is that they aren't going to rely on old material for their second album.

I'm sure Noel has a mountain of songs to choose from. this. i'm sure chief has enough material stockpiled for at least 3-4 albums worth. we have nothing to worry about.

I remember noel saying, right after finishing DOYS, that he had demoed songs for the new oasis album and they were very kinksy sounding. I assunme these to be SBJF, TDOYAM and DO RM and STC were written before that period and while touring he wrote EOTR and IIHAG. So he wrote the two AKA`s after the split aswell as stranding on the wrong beach.

funny, some people will just refuse to see the truth even if hits them right in the face. Liam said he had heard "most of it" and in fact he had sung on half of the tunes.
but no, Noel's gotta be exaggerating...
good god... lol

EDIT: hoping we'll eventually get to hear the liam-sung version of stop the clocks, but i doubt we ever will.
