I don't know why, this song has grown on me. I like the bass line used, as well as the lyrics I guess..."Pour me one for the road, it's a long journey baby..." Has a very modern day rock-like feel. Sort of like Cake, My Morning Jacket or Spoon. I think Noel is suited very well for this type of song. Hope he does more of these.

really surprised with this song. Great song. Chorus is epic, and yes like basiloasis1974 said that bass-line is great. Vocals in hole song are mega...everything is perfect. It's hard to word "baby" to sound great in the song..but Noel makes it work perfect.

This and everybody's on the run are the two im dropping on mates. Everyone's agreed to buy the album just off the strength of those two alone.

To me it sounds like the dirty little cousin of Waiting For The Rapture. A good thing!

It`s a great Song. One of my favs too. The way he`s singing it is reminiscent of waiting for the rapture.

Easily my favorite! Not really fussed about the rest of the album, though. I despise the production and feel like it's just songs Noel could write in his sleep, with strings, brass and choirs added...
I was looking forward to the AA album much more anyway, so I'm not too disappointed. Everyone knows that Noel has the ability to piss melodies and that's precisely what he did with this solo effort. I wanted something different and I'm sure the AA album will deliver!

Does anyone else feel that Wrong Beach, LTLSALOM, Jesus Freaks and Broken Arrow would work great within the context of DOYS? With Liam singing some of course, I'm thinking:
Bag It Up The Turning Waiting for the Rapture The Shock of the Lightning I'm Outta Time AKA... Broken Arrow Falling Down Soldier Boys and Jesus Freaks Ain't Got Nothin (Stranded On) The Wrong Beach Let The Lord Shine A Light On Me

Agree with the love for this song. That chorus is ridiculous. Love the trifecta of Broken Arrow, Wrong Beach and STC. Just added ASGOG to the end and it gets better. Then the album starts over on EOTR and we go round and round.

This is also my fav song on the album. The vocals are so crisp and the chorus is very catchy. I don't think any other artist could remake this song and make it any better than it already is.

Funny, I was getting mildly bashed for loving this one like I did early on...glad to see some have warmed up to it.
Fave chorus on the LP by far.

This is the sort of song that sounds like it belongs in an early Guy Ritchie film like Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.

Believe this is my 7th favorite on the album, but I still think it's fantastic. It's about half a rung below my favorite 5 tracks, right next to Everybody's On The Run. There really are no bad tracks on this album...it's still astounding.

This is climbing the charts on my fav list. Can't put it above WAL, TDOYAM or IIHAG quite yet, but I'd say its battling RM and EOTR for fourth place. Just an awesome, grimy, catchy little track. Nice and spare sounding.
My favourite production on the album along with TDOYAM.

From the very first time I heard it I thought it was the best produced song on the album and I still do hold this opinion. I'm getting a BRMC vibe from it.
