Whys in the world is it ever a 'failure' if Oasis has an album 'not as good' as either of those?
MG is the #1 (I think its' passed Sgt. Peppers) cd all time in UK and has sold close to 22 million WW.
DM is the fastet debut ever and was recently voted best British cd ever.
One of those is either beating the other in every top album list almost 50/50.
How can one band beat its own album (and theres two) when a million other bands don't even have one album come close.
BHN would have been collosal for any other group. HC for another group would have been given 5 of 5 stars.
DBTT will be great.
You can't comapre ANYTHING to a debut when they we're young and raw. Also, how can you expect anyone including Oasis to 'top' MG.
Why should they have to?
I can't understand what people want. If you want DM or MG YOU ALREADY HAVE IT!!
Proud American Oasis Fan!
Lyla rocks!
Hope I can get single in US.

I actually rate Be Here Now and SOTSOG as being better than Morning Glory, but there you go.

I think the original poster's comments were very helpful as for david's comment - I don't understand at all - but to each their own

What i really hope for is an album that is as consitant as the first two. we have been disappointed by three fairly patchy albums in a row. BHN, SOTSOG and HC aren't really a collection of steller songs. they don't beg to be played as a collective whole. i put sotsog on to hear gp and glio but i can't say that i anticipate upcoming songs...same goes with hc (which to me is one great song scyho, some good songs and a few too many bland forgetable tunes) and to a lesser extent bhn (which has quite a few good songs but has its share of clunkers and over-archers and was in the unfortuanate position of being the wtsmg follow up.
dbtt seems to identify with the eclectsism of wtsmg? i hope it can match the uniform excellence of the first two.

I understand everyones own 'taste' to each album. I wasn't saying those two are my top 2 (although DM is my top).
I was just pointing out that collectively those two are regarded as the best with the most people.
If SOTSOG had Let's All Make Believe & One Way Road added, with Put Yer Money taken off
it would be my #3 after DM, HC, MG.
As I am typing this I am listening to the Scorpions so I realized everyone has an opinion.
I guess my weirdest quirk is that I don't like Roll With It that much at all compared to Hello and I'll take Rollit over over Gas Panic.
I know Oasis fans that don't like Champagne Supernova. Say the are silly.
To each their own.
I still like Lyla, but it's not my fave and most likely wont be my fave on DBTT. I think it's better than Hindu Times.

Trying to recreate the past would be stupid

I'm sure it will be

I believe DM beat MG by a long shot.
It just blow me mind off everytime, from the start (Rock and Roll star) and to the (Married with children (which is largely underated IMO)).
