Got to listen to it for the 1st Time this morning, have had it on the car stereo all day.
Everybody's on the Run: big opener and a great one.instantly catchy tune my favourite line is: you've been drifting and stealing/try to walk in my shoes/but the dont belong to you/no they dont. have listened to this the most all day. 10/10
Dream on. Very Kinks/Neil young: noel opens with the lyrics: oh me oh my/im running out of batteries. the neil young influnces show through out the song, the song reminds me alot of shout it outloud for some reason. 7/10
If i Had a Gun: well we all know this one by now and it still remains one of my favourites the AAAAHHHHH Hook is just brilliant for me. 10/10
The Death of you and me: the 1st single of course and the biggest suprise about this song was the trumpets of course and it does make the song great, not the 1st time trumpets show up on the album. 9/10
i Wanna Live In a Dream In My Record Machine: opens with kids laughter and playground noises then the acoustic guitar starts and the choir kicks in which makes the song different from the original demo that we know from the dont believe the truth sessions. the lyrics are the very same but with the choir added to it it gives it a different feel it sounds alot better in my opinion from the demo, the choir makes it better for me. 8/10
AKA What a Life: i didnt like it when i 1st herad it but since the video came out for it, im really getting into it. 7/10
Soldiers Boys And Jesus Freaks: All the people in the village green/are gathered round there Tv screens. the song has the same backbeat throughout and the trumpets are back in this one, this song and 3 others sound very similar to me(Dream on & Broken Arrow & Wrong Beach) 6/10
Broken Arrow: A Fallen Angel/ The Broken Arrow. Sounds Very Similar to previous tracks but i like the chours and the way noel's voice changes pitch for it. 6/10
Stranded on the wrong Beach: Falling i see you on the way down/ i'll meet you on the rebound/ or somewhere inbetween. the chours is very upbeat though. 6/10
Stop The Clocks: Well as with record machine not much has changed from the demo, the lryics are the same but the vocal on this compared to the demo is much better. a nice way to end the album and this song can finally be put the bed after all the years of talking about it.i really like though. 8/10
Total Score: 77/100
with this album noel gallagher has not reinvented the wheel in terms of what he does and why should we expect him to. we are all fans of the music he writes and we all want more of the same, thats what i like about noel gallagher, there maybe times he will experiment with tracks like AKA What a life but as long as he continues to write catchy singalong tunes like Everybodys on the run, If i had a gun/Death of you and me/ Record machine and Stop the clocks then mr gallagher wont be losing me as a fan and wont lose the fanbase he has had for many years. roll on album no.2 with Amorphous Androgynous, it will be interesting to see what songs are on that album and how they sound. But for now this album will do nicely and will be played on my car stereo for quite sometime!!!.

I'd agree with that total score. I quite like the album, but for now that's what I'd give it. That may change though. When DBTT came out, I thought it was ok and now its my 3rd favourite Oasis album.

i ordered the album from noels site ....vinyl/cd/dvd with download thrown in for iphone and surprise surprise it arrived on monday morning!
after the first day i thought the album was a classic! now i always lean towards noel in the oasis wars so i will give it a few days.
ha ha! day two. this is a fucking great album. vinyl in the house, cd in the car and download on the iphone.
then...the people around me start to comment on how good the songs are after only hearing them once! is that the new noel gallagher album, it sounds really great!
yeah, i find myself in the supermarket with the soundtrack from this album swimming around my head all the time. thats the mark of a classic album.
somone said to me on wednesday "noels going to do alright for himself" after hearing two songs.
well, i have been writing this as the vinyl is playing on a drunken friday night and stop the clocks is blaring. i just want to put it on from the start again but i promised i would play it once and go to bed so i must now sign off!
noel has a classic on his hands.
