'Jesus Freaks' for instance - that one note bass - imagine what McCartney would have done,.or even would do now?
It's not just Noel, 'Wigwam' would be so much more with a groovy inventive bassline

Yeah, I too expected a little more imagination. Good basslines are underrated and I'm not just saying that cos I'm a bass player

I love some good basslines but as a fan of Noel i've come to expect that most of his work does have the best or most imaginitive basslines. It's a shame because the bassline in GLTO, LAMB, and some others lift the songs to a new level but the album is superb nontheless but I would want better basswork in the future. The AA IIHAG clip a nice line bassline.

for some songs yeah it is. I've played with some bass players that try to play the thing like a lead guitar and its troubling.

But somehow just right for John Entwistle. when you're that good yeah you got to haha. Plus Pete's guitar was more rhythmic allowing John to kinda play whatever he wanted. I still miss him. What a legend.

The bassline in The Beatles "I've Got a Feeling" is awesome.

The worst thing about Be Here Now is that you can't hear the fucking bass at all. All the songs are Liam, 36,000 guitars and maybe some drums.
Oasis songs have always been light on the bass, but BHN took the low-bass approach to absurd levels.

'Giants' is full of great basslines. Noel obviously went off the idea after that album flopped, not saying that's the main reason but if something doesn't go down well he seems to stay clear, i.e also steyed clear of using too many guitar solo's after 'Be Here Now'

Gas Panic! has an amazing bass line, especially in the FTM version.

Agree. Love the bass on GP and GLIO.
Who Feels Love also has a nice fat bassline.
I love the production on that album. So great. Too bad half of the songs weren't up to par.

I'd say the best bass moment on the album is the start of the bridge to Broken Arrow.

Comparing Noel to macca when it comes to bass playing is absurd. I can think of one Oasis song where the bassline made the song (GLIO) and about seven or eight more where the bass is really, really good. That's a pretty shit ratio for a band with well over 100 songs. Fuck, there are 30 or so Oasis songs where I'm not even sure if there's a bass playing.
And Macca's only one of the two or three greatest bass players of all time. Even his poorer solo songs have some incredible basslines.
So no, I don't think that is an apt comparison.
