Initially thought Everybody's On The Run sounded amazing but I don't seem to enjoy it anymore (already). The overblown production is exhausting and I don't like the outro (didn't like it in the soundcheck, hoped he'd changed it).
Cheers.

yep, it's pretty weak.
Why it will garner wide-spread crtitical acclaim and make dozens of year-end "best-of" lists will be mystifying to me as well.
Fkn Noel Gallagher made 2 decent albums and that was that. Just a few tread-water tunes here or there since.
Move along, nothing to see here.
The fact that you could very well be serious here is simultaneously hilarious and mind-blowing, but...
such is life on the world wide web.
And for the love of god, please spare me the "everyone has a right to an opinion" dad-lecture, I already understand that many think an "opinion" (regardless of its contention) cannot be wrong, like: "a pile of gravel tastes better than an ice cream sundae".
have a good one.

I'm shocked that you of all people would be whining. I don't think I've ever seen you bitching and moaning here before. Strange.

if you don't like this album there's something you didn't understand about noel gallagher and oasis over the years Agreed. I will note that it's a good album NOT by far the type of greatness we saw in DM-BHN lps. It's not fresh like DGSS. I say Noel move on and cut your losses with Sardy. That ship has sailed.

^ (re Mr Kite) which is precisely how it works with 99% of the artists on earth who have made 5 or more lps.
You can forget about any of them (even the "radioheads") "re-inventing" themselves.
Christ, even radiohead pretty much makes radiohead now. Sure, a slight variance from here or there, but we've had the bends, ok computer, and kid a...now all (3) are present in one form or the other on every LP since.
Ditto for NG: you had your Def Maybe, WTSMG, and MP/other.
Welcome aboard...all over again.
Claiming to be a NG/Oasis fan and not (at the very least) thinking this LP is "good" is simply not congruent.
End of. Really.

Starting to think Alone On The Rope is the best thing we've heard from his solo career thus far.

I'm sorry that you don't like it, man. At least you've got the AA album coming up to anticipate. Perhaps these songs will grow on you as well. Don't listen to the people that are going to abuse you for having different opinions. I love it, but I see where other people wouldn't.

^ It's hardly "abuse". Bit dramatic are we?
Having a difference of opinion is one thing...parlaying that into an "opinion" that seems to be formed for no other reason than to stir shit up or invoke senseless argument is quite another.
Some though have a track-record for such "opinion" and I will admit to being daft enough at times to take the bait.
I'll state it again though: an Oasis "fan" (which is a safe assumption in regards to this "case"... someone who's on one of their largest fan-sites for a half-decade and 1000 posts) who doesn't find this LP at least largely appealing has either not listened to it or is being difficult for the sake of being difficult.
But how bout we just call the above my "opinion", and therefore I cannot be wrong?

I just know there will be people out there that will come down pretty hard on people that don't see it they way they do. Same deal can be said for the handful of people who weren't big fans trying to knock the people that love it down a peg. Wasn't trying to be dramatic or anything like that.

^ it's cool drteder. I suppose we all feel our take on something is "right" to one extent or another.
And I'm not saying this LP is a masterpiece or digital perfection, I'm just saying that- on the whole- it's difficult to believe that a noel gallagher/oasis fan would find it to be wholly unsatisfying (my characterization).
And in fairness, I made the same contention with BDI...although I personally feel there's much less to fall in love with on their LP.
To each his own, I say...but with a modicum of reason.

Thedon joined 5 years ago and has 800 odd posts. Surely he's entitled to say on a forum he's (I presume it's a he, apologies if not) regularly posted on over a period of time that he doesn't like it without getting abuse thrown back??
Everyone posts their opinion on a forum, no need to criticise someone because their view happens to differ to yours. I've been an Oasis fan since 94 and I don't like the album, loved the soundcheck version of EOTR, the demo versions of STC and RM and I like Aka WAL.... but hate the polished, smooth, over production of this album.

Of course he does but every single thing that he says is negative and it's fucking annoying.
