The Big 3 being Live Forever, Don't Look Back In Anger, and Champagne Supernova.
I say it's just below that category, but definitely knocking on the door to be included in "The Big 4".

come on. it's way to early to say that. some people here said that about the beat goes on when it came out. it will take a lot time to decide

i don't think so... first of all it is too early to tell. We have to see how or IF this song can stand the test of time. Secondly, there's there lyrics. As much as i love EOTR and i think it's a great song and by far THE highlight of Noel's album, the lyrics are not as strong as those found in say.... Live Forever or The Masterplan.

To me it is... but I think we will have to wait and see how Noel does in the charts with it.
I know it doesn't mean much anymore but really it should just run riot over the crap that is currently out there and get alot of media attention... unfortunately, we are now in an era where crappy manufactured boybands and tarts wearing meatsuits get the limelight.

And I HATED the soundcheck. EOTR is stunning. Still don't like his vocal at the end. It sounds tacked-on and out of place. So close to being perfect.

When euphoria passes I'm gonna call this the greatest album of all time and EOTR the greatest song of all time. Serious. Yep, I'm really euphoric.

A big fat NO. Solid start to the album, but does anyone else think it dabbles too much into the dad-rock realm? Needs more dynamics.
Don't be too enticed by the layers of strings and heavy production that is on the album. For instance, people might think EOTR is better than Talk Tonight becasue it's way louder and shoved down your throat more. Don't get me wrong, I like the song but it's too thick and full of too many things.

EOTR reminds me (and I mean this in a good way) of "Fire On High" opening Electric Light Orchestra's "Face The Music" album.

Talk Tonight is fucking boring. A fine B-side but it had no business on a 'Best Of' album.

I'd put Talk Tonight on a "best of" album, and I'd rank EOTR as being in the top 5 songs ever, by anyone in the rock genre.
