There is a strings set that he's used alot... I think the ones on the album are those he used at the Royal Albert Hall in 2010.
I believe they are called "Wired Strings"

I'm wondering if any of these songs were recorded without the pitch being altered (ala DLBIA and SMS) to get a better sound...
Because that'll change things live. I'm thinking that might be the reason STC can't be played live...

the strings dominate most of the songs. i can't see him let them out. and with synthy it wouldn't sound so good

tickets were more expensive then Beady Eye's first gigs, so maybe that means he's bringing strings etc? Should be like that anyway!

I heard/read somewhere that Noel will be having a brass and string section with him on tour. The Crouch End Choir will appear also on a TV special & a selected venue on tour which will be filmed for DVD release. I can't remember where I saw this - but I haven't seen anything official to confirm it yet.

I got a feeling the TV special could be Jools Holland. I've not seen anything official though. So its just a case of wait and see.

If you see the Jools Holland thread I'm sure the tv special might be for Channel 4. Yeah he will have strings & horns on tour with him. Roll on Edinburgh. Stranded On The Wrong Beach is gonna be great live especially I think :-) I didn't hear about a DVD release until now though?! Anyone have more info on this?

I can't remember where I read/saw it It might have been on some music blog somewhere because I have it in my head that I was gonna wait for an official statement before I started to get proper excited about strings, choir, horns etc - plus a possible DVD release after the tour. But I havn't seen anything since - so I'm unsure how reliable the source is. Hope someone can shed some light on it.

That will be something to make the first show interesting
BDI created an album so that they could tour. You can tell that is where their concentration is/was. Live is what Liam is all about and so what BDI is all about. It wasn't really about making an album in the same way as Noel. BDI blatantly said that they were concentrating on making on album that they could got out and play to the people.
Noel makes an album because he wants to make an album. And he is touring because that is what is expected and he needs to go out and play the tunes. He probably would have been almost as satisfied with just putting the album out there if it were all up to him. He thought about the tour only after it was all finished.
IMO BDI is about live and Noel is about the studio. Another reason that Liam and Noel were good for eachother. Liam's passion carried them on the road and Noel's passion carried them in the studio.

Will he not just use tapes for the strings parts?
Ian Brown made an album consisting entirely of strings and vocals but just used tapes live. It worked too, I'd say it was actually one of the best gigs I've been to.

The venue he's playing in in Madrid has very little room on stage for strings..he can always place them at the bar lol

I guess he'd need more room for a brass section. Unless it was just a few guys standing there with trumpets. Now if he had both of them PLUS a choir - then he'd need quite a lot of room LOL. But I'm sure it's the arrangements are all put in place already - regardless of what they are.

He did say he was sampling bits for the tour Maybe that is why they had the EOTR strings and chorus separated out to give to us.

No way is he traveling with a groupd on strings and brass. LOL
I'll bet we get a great televised/recorded gig with the works.
Hoping he gives it the works for the TCT. I am sure he'll do that this year. They put the Dream we had... album out to support the trust. It be great if they did that again for Noel
