Is regretting his decision to stick with Liam when he could of been a part of what is going to be a legend of an album? If it was me, I'd be rethinking my choice.

NOEL together with gem would be such an upgrade for noel.. would be the best thing that could happen.

He might prefer being part of a band rather than just helping out on Noel's solo project.

I think Gem wants to make music, not just play it.

Yeah there's no way he'd want to go back to being a session musician, and there's no way Noel wanted to share songwriting duties. Gem made the right decision.

2 guitar solos on the album, he'd have fuck all to do wouldnt he?
Was never an option for Gem to with Noel. Solo means solo, clean break thats what Noel needed and thank fuck, look at the music were getting now. Instead of writing tunes pandering to the stadium rock dynamic were getting some fucking sweet b-sides and every song so far has been different from one another
Its getting better man

Yeah I think he may have even said himself, he loves being in a band and having the opportunity to make music. Noel finally got to a point in his career where he wanted to try and bear the load again alone, I'm sure Gem respects that.

He'll get more respect and probably be more professionally satisfied being in a moderately popular band with LG and writing songs than he would being NG's session musician.
My favorite thing about the split is a fully NG written album again.
Even if Noel is massively popular Gem wouldn't have gotten any of the praise.

Yes agreed! Noel having the complete "liberty" at a record is going to be great!
Don't get me wrong, I like some songs on the Beady Eye record but definitely not all of them. But, if I was Gem, I would have kept on with Noel rather than Liam especially since Gem and Noel had something special going on.
Again nothing against Liam or anything but, to me, Noel was always the main attraction in Oasis. His songs were the highlights of the records (not all mind you... *caughs* Get Off Your High Horse Lady *caughs*)

He didn't have a choice, full stop.
However, I get the impression that Noel and Gem aren't as close as we all think. Iirc one (or both) have even said they speak occasionally but not often. Possibly around the time of the press conference? Obviously they still respect each other however.

Why do you think he didn't have a choice?
Otherwise Noel said recently that while shooting the videos, it was the first time he felt lonely and felt like calling Gem to see what he was doing.

I think Gem is into the band atmosphere and likes been creative. Let's be honest there is a lot more for him to do in Beady Eye. As Noels sidekick he would be in the background with a bit of input creativity whilst at the moment he will have his finger in every pie. He writes, demos, helps produce the songs and will have a massive say in every Beady Eye decision. For me he made the right call for him.

First of all there really was no option for Gem to stay with Noel. Noel left to on his own, to do the SOLO album he was talking about for years.
Secondly: Noel is saying now that he misses Gem and blahblahblah but if you look at who spent time with who on the last tour you'll easily find out that Noel spent most of the time on his own and Gem, Liam, Andy, Chris & others went out together. It's true that Gem was probably Noel's closest 'friend' in the band, and Gem was probably the only one Noel wanted to demo with and stuff like that, but I think Gem spent at least as much time helping Liam out with songs.
I think he preferred staying with Liam and the others from the start, as for Noel he is and would always stay a session musician. In Beady Eye he has creative input, he can write more songs and discuss stuff like artwork etc. Gem is also a very big Beatles fan and very rock 'n' roll, something Noel has lost along the way with his experimental stuff and balads (which I also like, but it's nothing for Gem really).
He's also part of a BAND now, and he always said that he loved that.
