Personally, I wouldn't have thought so.

He definitely would be bothered if he had a shot. But he doesnt in the terms of tackling mainstream America.. Just no shot. But how do you define tackling America? If selling out concert halls singlehandedly well then he's already conquered America. Noels 45.. He's done as far as the Billboard single charts cares. He will never go platinum as a solo artist in America.. Ever. harsh but honest

I'm struggling to understand the obsession with America. He's a multi-millionaire, well-respected artist and has sold out numerous world tours. Why would he care if he is slightly less successful in America? It's a massive country with diverse tastes anyway.

Agreed, but its kind of just complete dominance thing. Noel himself says the one thing he didnt accomplish was a #1 US ALbum. But traditionally, and im using that loosely the cream of the crop in England would end up making it in America.. and Oasis did. For us Americans its an obsession because our music scene at the moment is shit.. and theres a bit of an unfinished business in regards to Oasis and America. I hate the money argument. Donald Trumps a millionaire, he's still an asshole..

Why is every band so determined to "crack" America (apart from for the money) and why is their success often measured on this. I've never understood it...

cracking america is about the money but oasis managed to be the act of a decade '90's for most europe / asia / Australasia .. which realistically means more than being flavour in the u.s for 6 months

he doesnt give a fuck, and neither does 'merica! Not mainstream, not even indie 'merica. If youre not Gaga, Brit, Xtina, or some prototype from 'merican Idol, its not happening. sad but, true. The Gallaghers are content being BIG in England and Europe. They've made enough money to help them buy themselves stupid shit for the past 20yrs without "cracking" Amurica.

I expect him to not really crack America at all but I think he'll be able to fill up some theaters, like he is with his current tour. He is kinda is a weird spot. He isn't mainstream, he isn't really trendy or weird enough to be cool with the "indie" kids in America but he'll attract former Oasis fans and lovers of just plain good music.
