A custom made Aussie surf board given to Noel Gallagher for 900,000 copies sold of Heathen Chemistry in Australia is up for auction at eBay
this is news that is cast in Live4ever News Room
HC was sold over 4 millions in the world (many people say that) it was sold over 1 million in the UK maybe over 400,000 copies in Japan

HC is certified for sales in Europe of 1 million, certified for sales exceeding 900,000 copies in the UK, certified for sales exceeding 900,000 in AU. So do the math... right there is 2.8 million copies not including Canada, USA, Japan, S. America, Eastern Europe and Russia, etc. 4 million is a likely target.

It can't be true. There's 19 million people in Australia, so that would mean that roughly 1 out of every 20 people would have a copy of the album. No chance. Big albums here, say Jet, Silverchair, Powderfinger etc. would only sell 250,000 if that. I think it's probably for 90,000 sales of HC, or 900,000 sales of Oasis albums in total in Oz.

Cant be right. The biggest album in Australia to date was Dire Straits Brothers in Arms... which sold over 1 million and sat on our charts at number one for a year or something like that. Then it hung around in the top 50 for ages more...
Heathen Chemistry I think cracked the top ten but faded out pretty quick. 90,000 maybe... not 900,000.

I reckon the answer is that Heathen Chemistry clocked up 900,000 worldwide sales while the band was in Australia - that's why the label presented Noel with the surf board.

Heathen Chemistry I think cracked the top ten but faded out pretty quick. 90,000 maybe... not 900,000. HC sold 35,000 copies in Australia according to my research. That's fucking shambolic. Shame on you Aussies if that's right.
