Who gives a shit? If the music's good, we win. Noel's not hurting for cash, and he's not going to stop making music if this doesn't sell as well as he hopes.

hoping noel will release this record in the summer while he is still touring.. followed by a 9 month break at most! (in this time he will be recording the 12 songs he wrote on the tour for the previous 2 years cause lets be honest this HFB's album are all songs that are at least 3 yrs old) The AA Album will impress die hards and critics giving and then by spring of 2013 we will have our 3rd Noel Gallagher album in 2 and a half years. That is the MOST IDEAL situation my brain can imagine. In Reality.. we prob wont get the AA Album until January 2013 and then his 3rd album by the time Oasis breaks up for a 2nd time in 2020..

In Reality.. we prob wont get the AA Album until January 2013 I'm really dreading this. He's already said if HFB is successful he'll delay the AA album. To me, it just doesn't make sense to release a "companion" album, containing remixes of the same songs, over a year after the original album. And I don't understand how he can sit on a finished album which he's obviously proud of for so long! Crazy.

It is crazy! Bus as we all know that is Noel. The laziest f'er in the world.. and his kids are getting older, where i would suspect parenting may take up more time.. then again who knows haha

Noel doesn't look after his own kids. He's admitted that all he does is sit around in his pants all day watching World War II movies while writing classic songs like the Importance of Being Idle. The bastard!

I don't think it'll be delayed any later than this time next year. Unless the HFB is another WTSMG commercially...which it won't be.
I think it'll be out in time to promote and play at the summer festivals.

I think it'll be out in time to promote and play at the summer festivals. This please. On a completely different note, I wonder if he'll get the AA to play with him live? Possibly a support slot?

I'll bet they do at least one show together. They were going to do the FD remix at an AA show until the show got rescheduled and Noel couldn't make it.

I don't care how many it sells there are only two records I've ever been as excited about as this one. Be Here Now and GNR's Chinese Democracv.

As to commercial success, I think that Noel really just wants it to pay for itself. He has already said he doesn't expect it to be as successful commercially as the HFB album so I don't think it will be a shock if it is only a modest success. (which to be fair is what DGSS was...it wasn't a flop...just a modest success)
But it could surprise everyone as well. People might love it. Noel is not Oasis anymore...there is every chance that he could begin to gather a new fanbase around him with this album. Maybe not massive...but possibly one independent of the Oasis fanbase.
Plus the album after a successful album always leechs a bit of the hype and gets a boost just by virtue of people having already bought into the artist regardless of the second offerings quality(see BHN). If HFB can be a success then it will bode well for the attention paid to the AA album.

I'm going to lower my expectations and expect it to be kinda shit. That way I'm surprised if it's good. Fool proof plan, isn't it? Can't believe I'm the first to think of something like this either.

Judging by the 'If I Had a Gun' sample mix by Amorphous Androgynous, this second album will be further out and more sophisticated than he's ever gone, but I have a feeling he will be shocked by the album's commercial viablity. It would be lucky to match sales of DGSS, and those - by modern chart standards - were rather dissapointing. What is Noel hoping to achieve with this? He's never been one for the Nick Cave/Thom Yorke approach to albums, he's always been very commerically based and mainstream. I've never heard of any other artist suddenly become avant garde at the age of 44, Sir Noel is in for a shock. But I hope I'm wrong. Umm right what the flying cock are you on about then?

Everyone involved knows the AA album is Noel indulging himself. Nobody expects a commercial hit. This. He made the High Fyling Birds album to take off his shoulders what everyone would expect from him. The AA album is his, and I bet it won't sell bad, just because it's Noel (not saying the quality won't be good, I'm quite sure it will be great).

As Liam once said: It's not about selling records, is it's about music being real. Everyone knows that line by heart. Get it right, yer newb.
