I thought I'd share some music from Sweden's biggest rock band Kent. Probably the band that I've listened the most to, after Oasis and The Beatles.
They started out as a shoegaze-inspired band in the middle of the 90s, sounded a bit like Ride. Then they became more rock in the end of the 90s (sounded a bit like shoegaze meets Oasis meets Nirvana) and then more mainstream with an almost britpop-like release in 2002. In recent years they've turned more electronic.
They released English editions of two of their albums in the 90s, and I picked out some English-language songs for you here:
Heavenly Junkies, one of their best songs. (1999) Guitar hammering rock of the kind we all love!
If You Were Here (1997), a big hit.
The Epic 747 (1997)
A demo from 2002
A more electronic number from 2009 (live, in Swedish)

I love Kent, but their songs die in English. It's a shame, because singer Jocke Bergs lyrics and vocals sound heartfelt in Swedish but just whiny and empty in English. Bands have tried to translate their songs plenty of times, but I've never heard it work.
I also suspect Kent remixed the songs for the English versions. They sound way too plastic. Still, musically Kent is awesome.

I listened to them more when I was younger, but have a listen now and again nowadays too. It's a great band!
My favorite album would be "Du & Jag Döden" ("You And Me The Death", or something like that in english). That one has to be their darkest album ever made, in line with "Röd" ("Red"). Not too keen on their first two albums, though.
