While this is undoubtedly true, there is something very special about the first time you listen to an album you have been waiting for a long time. Yes ofcourse it is, but it doesn't matter if it's a leak or the album. After all, it's the same album. The sound quality of the CD is going to be much, much better.

Think i will have a skip through the tracks, The ones i havnt heard first. Then listen all the way through, Then watch the DVD.
Think its a joke there is one extra song on the digital release. Will you be able to buy that song on its own on iTunes ? Cant remember what its called.

It's not a moral thing, you dick. Some of us grew up buying music from record shops on the day of release and value that experience. Not that old chestnut. This happens everytime. For me the excitement of getting the leak (whenever that'll be) will be just the same as the excitement of getting the physical copy in my hands. What next ? As you grew up getting music from shops are you not going to order it online and walk into town to get it to 'relive' that experience ? I've got the album pre-ordered but if theres a chance of listening to it early it doesnt matter if i hear it for the first time tomorrow or when its released. The experience for me will be totally the same, just would love to get it earlier thats all.

In my opinion, the best way to experience an album is to not know anything about it ahead of time. No reviews, no demo versions, no soundcheck versions, etc. It spoils it when you pretty much know what's coming (and as was the case with If I Had A Gun, when you *think* you know what's coming and you don't get it).
Additionally, I would want to hear the album in the highest possible quality (or thereabouts, vinyl snobs). I don't want to listen to low bit rate mp3s.
So yes, were Noel's record company not a bunch of fucking nitwits, the album would be released here on October 18th. And in that case, yes, I would wait until October 18th to buy it from my local indie record shop.
BUT since Noel's record company ARE a bunch of fucking nitwits, the record is not being released here until November 8th. So either I wait 3 weeks longer than the rest of you lot, or I attempt to sift through the nonsense on here in order to find a high quality download. Dunno which I will do yet, tbh. But now you know my preferences and why they're my preferences.
In regards to the rest of the record shop experience, though I could do without it if need be, I still do value it, yes. I like talking music with the clerks (some of whom I know)... I like leafing through the liner notes... I even like just having something physical to hold! This stuff may be hard to understand by someone to whom the digital age is just "the way things are" (not sure how old you are), but I assure you I am not just being an old fart. There is value in what I am saying and it's all based on experience (both as an observer and a participant).
If you are able to enjoy records regardless of any of the above, more power to you. These are just my preferences.

Yes ofcourse it is, but it doesn't matter if it's a leak or the album. After all, it's the same album. If it leaks, I'll listen to it as soon as I can and enjoy every second of it. If it doesn't, I'll wait for the release to do the exact same thing Well yeah that's true, I was more responding to gdfroever saying the first listen is just another listen (or something like that, apologies if I've misquoted you gdforever) I pretty much agree with Thuperthonic as well though
