ok, finaly i read his thoughts on my most favourite rocker of all time. did noel ever mentioned him in other interviews? i just remember he said, he didnt get Kurt and his not loving and not enjoying the success of his band and of being the biggest rockstar on the planet, and that he wrote Live forever as an answer of Kurts song I hate myself and wanna die.
did Liam ever mention Kurt?
just currious, cause as i said, i love Kurt as much as i love oasis.

The video is on NME. I think Noel, like me, respects Kurt as a musician, but found him very miserable at the same time.

He always valued and respected him as a melodist and songwriter and always spoke well of him. He just didn't like how miserable and negative he was.
I don't see how that view has changed.

i remember courtney love getting the arse about oasis , eddie vedder said he couldn't contunue in music after kurt liams response "do us all a favour and sack it" ha ha, glad he didn't tho cos the into the wild soundtrack is decent

Pretty sure Noel is quoted as saying that DM was his upbeat response to Nevermind and Ten saying that Nirvana and PJ were always miserable and if they don't want to be rock stars then don't fucking do it.

Yeah on the DM DVD he says he wrote Live Forever after hearing a Nirvana tune called I Hate Myself And I Wanna Die and he basically says "I'm not having that, this is a guy who has got everything that I want, and he wants to die? We had nothing, he had everything and he wanted to die. That's fucking rubbish". Words to that affect anyway. He obviously respects him as a musician though.

he clearly respects kurts contribution to music and enjoys the Nirvana "Hits". His statement about "I hate myself and want to die" has always IMO been taken out of context. Its a random B-side that noel heard and drew inspiration from as a songwriter.. basaically saying stop whining.. what a life/. but i dont think that he had any disdain towards Nirvana, unlike Liams comment I think noel realizes sometimes lifes too complicated to dismiss people as "sad vaginas". also i believe he has admiration for dave grohl as a musician as well. But again i know nothing. It is nice seeing Noel giving some respect. The one thing I always like about Nirvana were those songs that did have those beatlesque moments.
