Easily my favourite released B Side.
Reminds me a little of The Masterplan and Let's All Make Believe conveniently, although I doubt it will ever reach 'that' B Side status.
I can imagine it being an almost 'Keep the Dream alive' song on an album though (half the people seem to think it plods, I really like it). Again, different and experimental B sides are great.
The other one (I'd pick you) didn't really "hit" me, but this one has. I wonder how many people are the complete opposite.

Easily my favourite released B Side. This isn't a B-side to anything. It appears to be a stand alone (on the rope) release

Maybe Noel Gallagher decided to do this just give the fans a treat? Going off the clip released today, he seems to like the idea of mythical songs suddenly popping up. Or maybe something to get our attention out of the album leak ;D

Wow wow wow, this is just classic Noel - I've been very critical of Dave Sardy in the past but the production is 11 out of 10. Very haunting and it does remind me of very early Coldplay (which is to be taken as a compliment). There is no doubt that this is an amazing tune - unbelievable.

That could be a possibility. Something tells me Noel is personally overseeing the promotion of this album, which explains why it hasn't leaked yet and some of the decisions that have been made.

Love it. Kinda has a teotihuacan vibe with the piano too.

If I'm allowed to speculate without being abused, (more of a wild guess), does anyone think that this could be a demo/finished version of a song which later got redone by the AA? (Still think it could possibly even be the title of the second album, although there is 0 evidence)

I'm still at a lost for words how the boring WAL was picked ahead of this? Noel's flaw is picking the tracklisting. If I was in charge of the album tracklisting, there is no way in hell this one wouldn't make it. I agree with the person who said it sounds like a song from the SOTSOG era, but it's better than many of the similar songs he wrote during that time. Love the atmospheric eeriness of this sound, coupled with Noel's vocals. Stunning.

It doesn't look like it. It doesn't sound AA-like.

This. I'm still at a lost for words how the boring WAL was picked ahead of this? In your opinion, in my opinion this is behind the b-sides we've got so far, this and the singles are more a matter of personal taste rather the songs themselves actually being crap (if that makes sense?) I'm not having a dig at you either so sorry if it sounds that way.

If I Had a Gun > Alone on the Rope > The Death of You and Me > Aka What a Life! > The Good Rebel > I'd Pick You Every Time This. More or less agree with this. Maybe switch TGR with WAL, but that's a close call. Pretty much in agreement here.

Noel's mentioned a bunch of times how this album is supposed to be an "album from start to finish". In that sense, I've gotten the impression that the album, although it'll probably be really good, will sound extremely Oasis-ish judging from the songs we've already heard. This song is fucking amazing. Really haunting. Not gonna lie, I had a feeling Noel was going to make a big mistake like this. But this gives me hope for his second album (not the AA one...the followup )
