just watched last saturday's 'masterchef' (uk) and there was an instrumental of 'kill for a dream' near the end - 99% sure it wasn't just a looped-up edit, but actual instrumental version. anyone else catch it?

I did funnily enough. It was an edited version, just the music, edited always just before Liam sings. Never thought BE would allow their music to be used a show like that.
I've noticed ALOT of different, edited, Ian Brown songs do feature in programmes of a similar standard all the time.

I caught this as well.
This is actually an area where the band have done very well, I've heard instrumental bits of tracks used like this all over the radio and tv. Unfortunately I wouldn't call it 'promotion' as if you don't know the track already you have no chance of finding out who it is.
